Four years ago, one of the biggest storms passed over Portland, Oregon. The damages from the storm were so bad that several parts of Portland were flooded, with property damages that exceeded $45 Billion Dollars (USD) worth of damage, and civilian casualties rising into treble figures. One of the most notable losses was the destruction of the city zoo by floodwater, which killed hundreds of animals, including the well loved Lucky Joe, a six year old African Lion, and Genevieve, a twelve year old Alligator, both of whose bodies were never found. Sightings abounded for months during cleanup of Portland, however, these were confirmed as hoaxes by investigating authorities. A year after cleanup had finished, reports came in from disturbed home owners who implied that a wild animal had taken up residence in the suburbs. Sending in their best Animal Control agents, the culprit was found after a long struggle. The culprit, a strange-looking reptilian animal that was colloquially referred to as 'Dinocat', was taken into custody of the FBI once scientists could not ascertain what exactly the Dinocat was. Eventually, preparations for the creature to be transported to Central Base in [REDACTED] for assessment, however, during transport, the creature escaped capture and its tracking collar was found broken on the highway. Searches for the living specimen were called off, and the Dinocat became an urban myth. Three years later, whisperings of the Dinocat resurfaced after a Louisiana housewife reported seeing a similar creature rummaging through the family bin for scraps. |
