Ryan keeps his hair long - before there were practical reasons, now it's an old habit. On occasion, he has grown it long enough for ponytail, but usually it's just shoulder length and kept back by headband. In color, his hair is silvery-white, nearly snow white. His eyebrows are thick and same color. Eyes are pale, pale icy blue, and their expression are usually just as cold, but under this ice, there are deep waters.
He has light skin with various scars on his body - back, arms, leg - some bigger and jagged, other marking apparent bullet shots and even one long one on his upper tight from laser. It is not a mere fashion statement that makes Ryan so pale colored - he really is albino by nature. Due to that, he easily gets sunburned more than other people. Other than that, it does not have a real effect on his life.
He prefers simple clothes in darker color. Then - whatever he could get his hands on, be it baggy jeans, hoodies or T-shirts with weird text. Now - regular street wear, but not so worn down anymore. Always he has made sure he and his clothes are clean, as ripped or sewn over they may be. Only thing that has come as new addition in his wardrobe are gloves. The man wears them most of the time now. Although, if they were taken off, neither of hands would look abnormal.
Ryan is on the tall side, slowly gaining some flesh, not just muscles. He seems somewhat awkward in his movements, as if his arms and legs were too long or wouldn't function properly. It is not a big surprise, though, since he is making him self more and more ambidextrous, even left handed, putting most actions on his left hand to make use of his new arm. It often causes funny (and not so amusing) misfortunes, like destroyed items.

MoreMuch like his energy fields protect his body in one way or another, he guards his mind and emotions. Ryan is not stupid and knows that excessive amount of feelings can be downfall of any person in his world, especially if they are in situation like his. On top of that, lifestyle he has had to lead for so long, has subdued his emotions, partially distinguished his interest in life and he has grown distanced from many things.
However, deep down, he is still quite emotional, passionate man. He loves life, he wants to see and experience more of it, but Ryan is just slowly coming back to this realization, after need to survive was stronger than his remaining pride and wish to just end this crappy existence. He has a soul of a traveler, beauty lover, adventurer. When he first became a mercenary, it didn't seem so bad after all, since it quenched his need for excitement. But it has asked him to shed too much blood for no true cause and he often feels like he is drowning in it.
Ryan is caring and loving, his own loneliness bringing these traits out over the time, but he has no one to give it all to. The greatest life for him would be being able to travel around the world with someone by his side, and having somewhere safe, warm and love filled to return to. It wouldn't have to be anything grand, really, as long as it was his. It is the true, secret dream of this man - belonging somewhere or with someone. If he fell in love, it would be quite unconditional and for longest times, he would not even ask for same feelings back, as long as he was not ignored as a whole. And therefor, Ryan seeks what he doesn't even dare to admit to himself, so the reality wouldn't crush it even further.
Besides this softness, under thick shell there is also quite a deal of cunning and stubbornness. Although he is somewhat of a mental wreck at this moment, with self-esteem problems on top, he is not one to back off easily from his goals, when he has finally formulated them (most likely, he won't back off at all, just strategically retreat for a while). Before force, he chooses to use wit to get his way, but the man is not afraid of a good fight. The current medicine sometimes causes him to become more violent and generally prone to mood swings, though.
Until there is such a goal, however, his typical attitude is: "I don't care", so he is not the exactly subtle, kind type to strangers or most people in general. Usually the opposite - blunt, a bit sarcastic and disinterested.
Ryan's life was identical to many other 'street rats' - mother who slowly drowns in alcohol, many men and bunch of children with different fathers. He was the second oldest and saw her downfall, feeling it very acutely and painfully. Very early, he started taking care of him self, living in the streets more than at house, especially after his mother betrayed him in a sense, standing up for the boyfriend who beat her up, not him, who tried to give same medicine to the man.
Eventually, he lost all ties with his family, living with various gangs and then leaving those as well, becoming a mercenary. Time passed and this life took out of him much more than gave back. No permanent home, no sense of security. He really couldn't care less for him self for a while. And it let to an injury with poisoned shot in his left arm. At first, Ryan didn't pay it any attention, but as pain grew stronger and he slowly lost control of it, he just had to.
Someone like him does not have any insurances or hopes for medical help at hospital. But luck shone on him and Ryan heard a quiet mouth-to-mouth advert about company that is looking for lab rats. He went there, signed him self over and that was his first step to recovery. The doctors and scientists 'prescribed' the man a whole new arm, one whose steel bones would grow together with remains of his real ones as well as all the nerves and muscles and having some different qualities. A painful, hard process, especially since the poisoning had already went on too long, but Ryan survived the operation.
So, now he is learning to use his left hand and generally being taken care of. After the recovery is done, he will become a 'monthly wage' mercenary for them, he realizes that, but it will be better than before... Or so he hopes.
Street smart, with connections to big Corporation as he is now working for them, he makes a good employee to send out to deal with street people. He would be even better if he actually gave a damn about what he was doing. But for now, he is still staying in hospital, getting used to his arm and learning to use it properly. The very much enhanced strength in left arm is hard to master, especially since he is naturally right handed. Next lesson for him is to learn fighting, putting most force on left arm, but also distracting enemies with right, so attack from left comes unexpectedly.
