King (played by TheSavageLadyKing)

"Decades ago there lived a ruthless and powerful by the name of Captain Idele Silvertongue. Born to a seamstress and a drunkard, The Silvertongue learned early on that if you wanted to get anywhere in life you'd better have a sharp wit and a big stick to back it up. In the port city of Asteriaon Captain Idele spent his boyhood years as a simple pickpocket until his faithful meeting with the then notorious Blackbeard the Beast, a pirate captain known for his fiendish ways.

It was that meeting that sealed Idele's fate. It was said that Blackbeard had left such a profound mark on the boy that even in their showdown later in life Idele spent more time gapping in awe than actually fighting. That of course didn't stop the younger man from beheading the Beast. From then on Captain Idele the Silvertongue was the most feared and cunning pirate to ever sail the seas.

Until, like most great men, he was betrayed by the love of his life, Ms. Silveena Thatelgood. Silveena turned out to be a spy sent by the Valebrick Empire who like most were tired of having their royal ships ransacked as well as their port towns pillaged.

Silveena succeeded where most men had failed. She brought the murderous pirate captain to his knees and killed him before the whole of his crew. But not before asking him for the where-a-bouts of his most sought after treasure, the legendary Olive Crown.

Idele the Silvertongue chuckled heartily in his last moments. He had stolen the crown years before from Blackbeard the Beast and hidden it just as quickly as he'd gotten it. It was said that that crown alone could grant the wearer their truest desires.

And right before Silveena swung her sword he shouted as loud as his lungs would allow,' At the edge of the world lies victory!'," King read out loud to the group of children sitting before her. Their little faces were enraptured with her story which made her smile slightly at the sight. She loved children though she often found herself annoyed to the point of madness whenever she was in their presence for more than a few minutes. These children were a little different than the regular rascals she found herself sometimes in the company of. Either they had been taught their manners or they really liked her story.

She chose to believe it was the latter.

"And then with a CHOP he was dead!" she shouted suddenly. All the kids screamed in fright and then they each fell into a fit of giggles. She patted the nearest on, a red haired girl, on the head and stood quickly. She had wasted enough time with the kiddies and now it was time to get to work... looking for work.

"Alright you little urchins! Scram and keep your ears to the walls, you never know when a famous pirate captain will come into town," she teased. They all nodded happily and skipped off.

Now for the hard part. Finding work so she could afford to buy her own ship. As much as those children believed her story to just be another tale King knew the truth. And that was that Idele the Silvertongue's treasure was waiting out there at the edge of the world just waiting to be plundered. And she meant to be the person to do it.

Captain, yeah there wasn't much of a tile towards captain when there wasn't even a crew or a ship in the picture anymore. Third time was always a charm in losing it all, right? That was what people said or maybe he was imagining it. Crazy the things went on today. The poor lady Annabelle left in the hands of idiots who would take after here. The second lady Annabelle at that. He needed to find a way to stop loosing his ships.

Vince leaned back in the chair he sat in, tucked away towards the corner of the local in, with a cup of beer to suffice him in his mourning such tragedy. It might have partially been his fault, but in his belief it was mostly the crew with the problem not being him. The blonde took a sip from his drink pulling his hat down to cover over his face as he glanced around the place.

Who would think it would be so hard to find someone with a ship... that he could take of their hands...easily. Bah, even then he would still need a crew to sail it. Damn that woman for running off on him after playing with his heart, if he ever ran into her again she would be as good as dead.

The day was a bust, that much was certain. She had walked the docks looking for work as a crewmen but eventually, when her success had seemed more than fleeting, she had switched up and instead had tried to find work at the quarry just a ways off from the city. No such luck, of course.

She'd been turned back almost immediately. It was always the same. Once they noticed her womanly curves they'd laughed in her face and offered her instead a position as the bed warmer for the men. And if she had been hungrier and just a bit broker as she was she might have thought about it. But as it was she still had a bit of pocket change left as well as her meager savings of 400 shillings so she really wasn't that desperate.

So with the day almost done she figured she could instead waste time at the Missing Finger Inn. They had the cheapest ale in the port city and she was looking to get pissed. It was the least she could do after such a wasted day.

She stepped into the inn and smiled at the site before her. There had definitely been a brawl not too long ago which sucked. She hated missing bar fights. They were a great way to relieve stress and pocket a few easy to pluck shillings.

"Michalla, bring me a pint of Monkey Snot!" She shouted at the blond barwench near her. Michalla smiled flirtatiously in her direction before walking off to fill her order. King moved to take a seat, spotting the new blood in the bar. Prehaps a merchant looking for a skilled set of hands.

Setting the mug in his hand down he leaned back in the chair, looking out from under the shadow that his trigone hat cast over his face and hiding the scar that ran down from his nose to mid cheek. He would have felt better being in some other place but seeing how he was lucky enough to even get left anywhere at all instead of being forced to walk the plank he would take.

All these people that were all happy and cheery about their time surrounded by the people that swarmed then place and he was sitting there alone. Who needed those idiots around anyways, they got paid that was all it came down to... well except in his case. Why they kicked him off and stole his ship was beyond him. Sooner or later he would have some luck with things like that.

King guzzled down her drink as she watched the newcomer. It wasn't unusual for there to be new faces every once and again, after all this was a port city with plenty of work opportunities most days. Able bodied men flocked to the docks and the quarries looking to fill any open position. All to get their hands on a coin or two. Sometimes they came to the Missing Finger Inn to drown away their sorrows or find a cheap bed to lay in for the night.

It was those same men that were keeping her from her dream. A big stinking boat to rival those of the greatest pirates. She'd seen dozen of them back home, mostly derelict or completely falling to pieces. She had always marveled at them growing up. Had heard the stories from her sisters about the rough men who sailed them and once or twice even a tale of fierce captains who got away through sheer will. It had amazed her young self. After all, anyone who could control theirself through one of her sisters' songs had to be as strong as they came. Near legendary.

Taking a last gulp of cheap ale she squared her shoulders and prepared to talk a sweet game to the freshmeat. If things went well she'd have talked herself into a bit of work. And if not she'd snatch a few coins so her time wouldn't have to be completely wasted.

((Sure is. Head to the following link for a rundown of the basic plot. Also it'd be a god idea to look in on my character, King, and Ohermichi's Vince.

If you have further concerns please feel free to pm or reply in the following thread link.

Oop: Aright

Kara wandered through the doors of the Missing Finger Inn. She was clearly exhausted, having a few tears in her clothes, bites and scratches, clearly being canine in origin, and a sword with some kind of blue liquid on it. Next to her was Begad, a Cat Spirit she had met some time ago. He was equally exhausted.

Kara wandered over to the bar, dragging the sword she carried along the ground. It was Germanic in origin, and had a stylized hilt, with a ferocious looking wolf on one side, a vicious cat on the other and finally a dragon leading up into the blade. She plopped down on one of the bar stools. "Just get me something with alcohol in it... and orange juice or something for him."Kara said, with Begad sitting next to her. "You really wouldn't think Wolf Spirits were THAT persistent..."He muttered. "Weren't those the same ones that we ran into in Golden Tree?"Kara asked. "I think so"He said.

Eventually Kara was given her drink, a generic ale, and Begad was handed a mug of orange juice. The Cat Spirits presence drew some eyes. It wasn't every day you saw a bipedal, navy blue and fuscia striped. speech capable cat.
Others (played by Ohermichi)

There were a few as far as he could tell, sailors from crews, which wasn't all that surprising as the reason that he had originally made the stop was to stock up. Ah but it was the look he was looking for in them. More of his way of sizing up weather he would be able to get the ship with a decent size crew.

He couldn't go with those that looked too fancy, no, that would only bring trouble and he didn't exactly want to be dealing with the navy a second time when the first wasn't all that pleasant. It was more of the one or two smaller, dingier looking crews members that he had his eyes on. With any luck they would be in port long enough for him to decide between them and if not he was stuck here with what little he had on him. That wasn't all that much either.

Leaning against the table he picked his mug up once more, giving it a sip before his looming eyes caught something or someone coming closer towards him. However he didn't move very much other then to tilt his head up slightly to get a quick look before he went back to what he was doing. No need to concern himself when the other was sure to explain themselves in due time.

There was a talking cat... Spirit... Demon... thing in the bar. Which was altogether not the weirdest thing she'd ever seen but close enough that she had to pause from her current action to take a long hard look. Well it was more of a gaping thing really. Who, after all, could blame her? It wasn't every day you saw one of those just walking around and drinking at a bar.

Though odd things were known to happen at the Missing Finger.

After a moment of taking in the queer site she looked over the girl sitting beside the creature. Prehaps she was a charmer able to trap and use djinn or other spirits as she saw fit. Or prehaps it was none of King's business. Yes, yes, that last one seemed about right.

So back to the task at hand she went. She could spell the coin as she came closer. Even if there was none on him she could feel in her palms that somehow or another he'd be a great help in getting some into her hands. And then she'd be able to get her boat.

She took a seat across from the man and leaned over to show a bit of cleavage, if he was the type it wojld help and if not than... who cared? Her breasts were in a league of their own as far as she was concerned.

"Good sir, me wonders what a fine gentleman like yourself would doing in such a shoddy bar like this? Could it be you are in need of skilled help? If so you should know that I am a very sought after woman. My hands are magic, or so I've been told. And for only a few shillings, gold is my preference, these magic hands can work wonders for your business," she schmoozed.
Kara (played by 0V3RL0RD-P4RR0T)

Kara glanced over, noticing King speaking with Vince. She let out a sigh seeing as how Begad was too exhausted from fighting with those Wolf Spirits to hop up and go volunteer them for some other adventure. "Why are we here again?"Begad asked. "Seeing the world."Kara responded. "Sweet pine cones this orange juice sucks..."Begad said looking inside his 'mug', which was in actuality a small cup made for children to drink from. "Ey!"Begad called hopping up onto the counter looking around for the bar lady. "Can I get some like apple juice or something? This orange juice tastes like rotting toadstools, and trust me, I know what those taste like!"Begad said, having tossed his mug on the counter. He had already finished the juice, and was expecting the mug to shatter, though it harmlessly bounced on the counter. "Ugh..... why do you always make scenes?"Kara asked covering her face with her hand.
Others (played by Ohermichi)

His eyes caught on a few things while he was looking around once more. A few other people of interest, including one that he had caught looking over at him with the most peculiar thing with them. However when the the sound of the chair across from him moving caught his ear and the corner of his eyes he turned his head. A woman of all things asking him about something like that.

Vince wrapped both his hands around the mug of booze in his hands, tilting his head up slightly to get a better look at this one that had decided to speak with him. Those, yeah, those were some nice breasts. A small smirk spread across his face as his eyes traveled up listening to her speak.

"Gentleman, now there's something I haven't been called in a long time, darling. Unfortunately I don't have any work even for a women such as yourself without stealing me self a ship first." The blonde grinned leaning his arms against the wooden table.

The first thing she noticed was his eye placement which made her significantly pleased with herself. They were a magnificent set after all was said and done but then his words reached her.

A sailor?

Was he? Oh, her sisters in the sky had to be singing good fortune for her. And he said stealing, right? Yes, yes, of course. A thief and a sailor only made one thing and that was a pirate. So her gut feeling had been on point, as always. She was what her sisters called 'charmed'.

All her life she'd 'felt', for lack of a better turn, her way through life. Every situation had been heeded only by her gut and then faced with a healthy dash of bravado. Yup, thats the way King lived her life and here she was now, face to face with an actual pirate... well one that wasn't trying to worm his way into her knickers which was even better.

She took a moment to notice the small scene to her left. That cat thing was complaining about the state of his beverage which was altogether odd considering exactly where they were. Who came to a place called the Missing Finger expecting quality? Maybe, once she was done with acquainting herself with the pirate she'd make her way to them.

Yes, but back to the point at hand.

"Are you in the... midst of making such an attempt? If so me thinks you should know that I can get my ear to the ground and find you an easy pick. That is, if you'd allow me to join your company. I, myself, am a sea faring girl, after all," she murmured in a low voice. Most of the patrons wouldn't bat a lash at their conversation but she knew for a fact that Michalla, the slag, couldn't hold her tongue in much the same way a broken pot couldn't hold a plant.
Kara (played by 0V3RL0RD-P4RR0T)

"Begad sit down... please.."Kara said. "No, I'm gonna get a decent drink one way or another!"The Spirit declared. "Okay fine, when we're done here I'll go find you something else to drink."Kara responded. "Why go somewhere else when I can just get a new drink?"Begad asked. "Because you're making a scene over Orange juice!"Kara said, finally grabbing Begad's tail and pulling him back into his seat. "Was still terrible orange juice..."Begad grumbled, folding his arms across his chest.

"Women are bad luck to have out at sea, don't you know that." Vince replied once the female had finished talking. Taking a deep breath however he bit at his bottom lip. Was he really that desperate to forgo that silly superstition to be able to have a start on a crew. He probably was seeing how it was bothersome having to pick though for crew mates and here was one offering herself up to join.

Vince pulled a hand away from the cup, tapping his fingers against the table. "Yer lucky though. I don't have the slightest feeling for not letting you, since this will be the third crew that I've had to put together. Cross me however and you'll regret it." He added the last bit in before his eyes wandered back off the crews he had been watching over.

"There's a few that I've been watching that so far seem like the ship would be worth the trouble, just need a crew and to decide which one to take tis all." A toothy grin crossed his face as he tilted his head back to glance at the woman once more to see what she thought.
King (played by TheSavageLadyKing) Topic Starter

Technically she wasn't a woman. Though, by human standards, she supposed she was close enough. But seriously, either way, what a silly superstition. There were plenty famous female pirates. Plenty of famous female sailors too... well her point was that keeping women on dry land was ridiculous, borderline archaic even. Well maybe that was a bit too far.

It was good then that he continued on before she could set into questioning about that stupid superstition. She'd been running around all day having her jobs stolen by men and she didn't very well want to hear more about how they belonged and she did not. So yeah, she decided that she liked this strange man. If only because he had accepted her pitch.

Also she knew he could appreciate... uh... 'fine wine' as she liked to call them. Which made her all the kore pleased.

"Well than you've got the right set of magic hands on your team. I'll find a proper crew for us in no time. Well maybe not a whole crew but I can definitely get you at least two!" She gushed, her eyes shifting to the girl and the cat thing sitting at the bar. Getting them would be like a two for one deal, right?

"What do you think of the um... stranglings over there?" She whispered.
Kara (played by 0V3RL0RD-P4RR0T)

After a short while a barmaid returned from the back of the bar, leaving a mug of 'apple juice', clearly irritated with Begad. "Thank you."He said taking a big slurp of his 'apple juice' before quickly spitting it out discovering it to actually be urine, specifically donkey urine. "Okay first they get me terrible Orange juice, now they're wasting perfectly useful donkey piss! That's it! I wanna see a manager!"Begad demanded hopping back up onto the counter. "What use does donkey pee even have?!"Kara asked dumbfounded by Begad's comment. "It can be used as fertilizer! And it's damn good fertilizer too!"Begad responded, as if Donkey urine was a commonly used fertilizer

Oop: I love playing Begad XD
Others (played by Ohermichi)

Vince's eyes turned back over towards the bar where the two he had been trying to ignore that were making such an uproar. His hand went up to the small pieces of glass on string that hung from a lock of hair, playing with it as he watched what was going on at this point of the argument the odd thing was having with the bartender. He couldn't help but to chuckle slightly at it and the fact that this lady would think they would do any good on a ship.

Blue eyes went back to the one sitting before him before returning to the two sitting at the bar. "Could be worse I suppose. Such slim pickings compared to some of the ports I've been to." One of which he barely had escaped seeing how the navy decided to show up on that day. Ah that had been a wonderful chat along with a scar that he kept covered up on his arm. "Why not, maybe a bit of change is what I need to change my luck around."

Another female, he must have been going soft from all that time with the one she devil.
King (played by TheSavageLadyKing) Topic Starter

He probably thought she was crazy having pointed those two out specifically. And she was just a bit but the main reason she had done it was because of her gut. It was telling her that the stranglings were just what they needed on their voyage. Which brought along another interesting topic.

Did he know anything at all about the Olive Crown? Most pirates did but she had met a few recently who had believed it was just a silly tale. She, of course, knew that to be a bunch of malarkey. And her intentions were to find it and have her deepest desires come to fruition. Should she tell him this now? No, no, better to wait until they had already casted off, lest he think her a complete loon.

"Most who come to this city are a good sort. They look for clean work and spend their nights writing their mothers and wives back home. So you can imagine that what you see here in this bar is probably the best you're gonna get. But no worries. You've got me on your side," she said with a wink before standing. Now was the best time to get to the strangelings, after all, she was too excited at the prospect of being back out at sea to waste anymore time.
Kara (played by 0V3RL0RD-P4RR0T)

"Good god, Begad just calm down please..."Kara said frustrated. Unfortunately Begad didn't listen to her. "Seriously, how did they even GET the donkey pee?!"Begad said. Unfortunately for him the manager didn't show up. "Ma'am you might want to take your pet outside."One of the barmaids said to Kara. "Oh no... you just cut his final nerve..."Kara said knowing full well how much Begad hated being called a pet. "PET?!"He shouted. "I AM NOT A PET!"He added angrily.
