The Beginning of Time

The sun stands high on a blue sky behind a thin layer of white clouds. Even with the sun hidden behind a curtain, the heat is almost unbearable for the people who have dared leave their houses and walk the streets. The walkways between skyscrapers are rivers of sunglasses and shorts with hands filled with heavy, candycolored bags that moves between stores and cafés. Outside cities are the beaches turned to volleyballfields and the waters are a rainbow of swimsuits. On the flatlands stand the fields golden and wave in gentle winds, among the green grass with sleepy animals staying in the shades of tall trees. Summer is hot in year 2017, but the people do their best to get the most out of it.
However, the unpredictable always happens when you least expect it, as people stop and point to the sky as small blue lights float under the clouds from the ocean. Whispers in awe and fear sweep like a breeze across the lips of the masses, as they watch the blue lights gently fall to the ground like blue snowflakes.
Noone is prepared for the loud screeches, as the lights finally touch the ground, sending long fingers of lightning across the skies, turning them from babyblue to pitch black, as the light is drained from the sun itself. Thunder rolls over billions of pale faces, as ears are covered by shaking hands. Shivers run down the spines of the people as they watch in horror how darkness sprout from what would have been the center of the glowing blue lights, the blue is twisted in shapes of ragged teeth around a void. The fangs continue to grow rapidly in a matter of moments, until the first person is swallowed by the darkness. People run in fear, as more are dragged to their presumed deaths, leaving only the trails from hands grasping and clawing anything they can in an attempt to hold onto their very existence.
Screams Echo accros the globe on the day that will be remembered as The day of the Rifts.

The World

The world could at first glance resemble our own, with dense forests, tall mountains and icy plains. All is crawling with untamed beasts like lions and bears that hunt wild deer and horse alike, but if one looks closer, one may notice direwolves and unicorns among the animals. The land is beautiful and magic, as if taken from a child's fairytale, until one discovers the first corpses.
Humans do not exist in this world, even so, great wars has raged the land for ages. The Intelligent Being have been fighting eachother with weaponry coated in enchantments, cutting down foes one after another. Some have even gone so far as to raise the dead, who now roam the darkest parts of the land.

A neverending battle to secure one's life and sanity will begin! Pick a side! Who and what will you fight for? Or would you rather scavenge the world on the hunt of grand adventures? can youavoiding getting drawn to the front lines? Is it possible to befriend the Intelligent Beings and even end the war? The choice is all yours!

Now that we have the introduction out of the way there are a few things you should know;
- This will be open which means I have no intention of stopping the applications in the nearest future.
- The roleplay will be hosted on the forum, by me.
- I see no trouble in you playing a magic being, but we are going to need some humans too.
- All characters will have to be accepted by me, I am god of this RP(OOC).
- This idea is original if you do want to use it for yourself, please please leave a pm and I'll happily grant you the permission!
- The charcter connected to this thread is not a charcter but the base of the world which will be updated whenever I feel something is needed.

Edits/add-ons
- Human beings CAN become magical ones within the RP. though method depends on the being. Please note this is not something that randomly happens, and it will take some work IC.
- When asking to join, please leave a name, gender, age and race for your character.
- both the human and magic world have multiple languages, both have a common language which for the humans would be called Himani and the magic Etvih this language is in fact the same. In addition to this each world has an unspecified number of unique languages which I will not name for free-imagination-reason. I do wish to know if anyone makes up a language so I can add it to the charactersheet made for this rp.

Hi! I'm also really interested in this roleplay. I'm not sure who I'd join with exactly, but it sounds fascinating!

I'd need to know if you want to join as human or magic being - then ofc which charater(s) you would want to join with - but ofc you can!

I could do either! I have a human character who is a magic user but I can easily just make him a plain human if a magic-using human doesn't fit into the lore. Name is Soojin Yi, 19 years old, and gender is cismale!

I generally try to avoid magic spells such as fireblasts++ since they are hard to "balance" between characters - so a few changes would be needed to his story - but other than that I see no problems with him.
He will be added to the list as a human and I'll hit you up with a PM on start. Got any questions about the story, you can ask them here, in case others didn't realize they were wondering about this.

Totally understandable! If it helps any, his magic is all very simple stuff like protection charms, lighting candles, and brief illusions, but if it's more lore-friendly and easy to make him a mundane human, I understand and I'm still down to play! Thanks!

I'll have to consider it - in any case he wont be able to start out with it,so if anything - he will have to learn it in the world - since aquiring magic abilities is allowed (: other than that, welcome abord!

The only thing i notice is his pre-story relationship to magic beings. This is not possible in this world since the world the humans originate from does not have any magic. I will however allow for some of his family members to get swalloed by a rift yet not appear in the universe (so he can watch them disappear and retain his hatred for magic and you wont have to play as his family unless you wish to do so) as not all humans taken will appear in the story - some simply get lost in time and space. others are on temporary pause - allowing new characters to continue to join even as humans.
I love the idea of him hating magic, so if you are okay with slight changes to his backstory to make it fit the lore - I'll add him to the list!

This RP looks very interesting, is it still open for people? I have two characters, Meteralis and Delastarh. They both come from a sci-fi setting, but I also have a medieval AU bio and I can even tweak their story a bit more to fit. I just want to RP them. Delastarh would be the more fitting, since he's pretty much a normal human. Metaralis usually tag along with him, but since he's possessed by an alien/demon I guess you don't really want him.

Is Katherine ok for this roleplay? I can remove the part about her being royalty so it doesn't cause confusion.

As for age, she's around 12-15. I can pick an exact age when I see how the roleplay goes. But in other words, she's in her early teens.

Hello, this look very very interesting, and i'd like to play as Maxwell. He is usually used for Steampunk RP, but i made a "Fantasy" bio. I can still change some elements so it can fit this RP i needed. Of course, if he doesn't fit in any ways, i'll understand! Ignir could also fit if needed, She is usually Maxwell's only "friend", but i'd rather use Maxwell for this one. If humans are not here any more, Ignir could even be dead, and Maxwell would be bitter about that. Then again, you'll decide)
