Despite the sun being high and the sky clear of clouds, one you step into the potion shop, you could easily make the mistake it was night. Nero sighed as he polished the various jars one by one. His boss - a sweet old thing - had told him the darkness was to preserve the ingredients for the potions. The bosslady's cat climbed up the shelves, to find a comfortable place to nap making the various vials and jars clatter and shake. Nero grumbled to himself. This place wasn't completely bad - the money was fine, and he was learning a lot about potion making. But having to do cleaning was a little insulting, considering his father could buy this shop if he wished. Not to mention, having to be cooped up in the dark all day.
When his task was complete (at least to his satisfaction, no doubt the boss would have to redo it) Nero slouched in the chair behind the counter, hoping a customer would soon break the silence.

Fial hesitantly nudged open the door to the potion shop, head poking in to look around. It took a moment for his eyes to adjust to the darkness, and finally he slowly inched the rest of himself in. The door closed behind him, and yet again his eyes had to adjust. But it gave the man behind the counter plenty of time to greet their guest. Fial was a lovely thing, pale complexion and bright green eyes framed by long locks of golden hair. His body was slim, and the clothing he wore bordered on feminine, which really made it hard to tell that he was a male. In fact, most of the people he met considered him incredibly female. He stepped forward shyly, his voice soft and quiet. "Um...excuse me. I'm looking for a potion.." Now that he had seen that the person behind the counter was male, he was terribly shy. Men often didn't like him, due to being so effeminate, but it wasn't his fault! He was just like this naturally. For the most part. Kind of. Part of it was a psychological thing, but that's a terribly long story.
Nero's eyes darted up as the door creaked. He squinted. The natural light from outside was like shooting a spotlight right in his face. When the door was closed, rubbed his eyes and his blurred vision returned to normal. Instantly, a grin spread across his face when he discovered the customer was a stunning blonde woman. He couldn't tell at the distance, but possibly even elven. He lent over the counter, very unprofessionally.
"Hello there," he cooed with a complete lack of subtlety. "How can I help you?"

Fial cleared his throat slightly, taking another small step or so, and then diverting shyly to one of the shelves. "I'm uh...I'm looking for a potion that has the sap of a Chrysanthemum." He pushed his hair back from his face with delicate fingertips, and Nero would discover that the guest certainly was elven! There was still not a single thing about Fial that would make him seem like a man, except maybe for the lack of a chest. But some women were small-chested, so that didn't do much for his case of manliness. "Do you happen to have any?"
"Aaah, are you a first time customer?" he asked, with a wink. "We make all our potions to order - some of them have a very short life expectancy," he explained. With that, h turned his back on the elven woman to face the shelves behind him, littered with vials of various coloured liquids, bugs, feathers, and bunches of herbs. A stunning collection - more than even a potion master would ever need. He hummed to himself as he browsed the bottles, reading the faded labels. He reached up, and took a tiny jar with thick semi-transparent liquid down. Sap of chrysanthemum - good quality too. Very powerful - even a small amount, the size of a grain of rice would create a potent potion. He put it on the counter between them, with the label facing Fial.
"Looks like we've got some in stock. What would you like me to do with it, dear."
"Looks like we've got some in stock. What would you like me to do with it, dear."
Fial nodded shyly. "I am." he admitted quietly, shamefully. He watched as the man searched for the vial, then found it! But his face turned pink at being called 'dear'. Uhoh. Miscommunication, miscommunication! Fial was too terrified to even comment, though. If he told the man that he was also a man, then he would get angry, maybe even violent. Not a nice thing to happen in a potions shop. "Um...I need it in a potion to revive a garden. I could try it myself, but it would drain me of magic too quickly, since it's an entire garden. But with the potion, I can do it." His eyes sparkled for a moment as he discussed gardening.
