Mystique could no longer take Sam and her independent elephants so Brad took them to a small island where they could be free once more. She wouldn't miss the problems they caused. But they did not cause as many problems as a few other happenings.
For instance, she has yet to find out who was traipsing all over her farm. They had left trash here and there as well as fire burned areas where they did not use fire rings. She had made arrangements with a construction company to put up a very tall fence and an electrical fence on the inside. She had already talked to her lawyer and did everything that sh needed to do. Now all she had to do was to do was to wait for everything to happen.
It was a quiet night and perhaps her nightly visitors wouldn't show up....
She was reading a magazine while eating her fried chicken dinner. It was one of her favorite meals. She was debating about possibly starting a small Little Top Circus Museum with her Circus Collection. It might bring in the extra money that she would need to fund the electricity for the fence. Another magazine was sitting close by. it was all about the home farm and alternative ways of life. Perhaps she could have a small farm and orchard with a market stand...... There were wind mills on the front which is why she bought the magazine. She had her night's worth of reading to read after she finished eating and cleaning up.

I took a seat at one of the stools in the old fashioned diner. "Can I get you anything?" A waitress asked politely, walking up to the counter where I was seated. "Uh, yeah," I glanced around unsure. I'd never been in here before. "Just water please." I said quickly. "One glass of water coming up." She chuckled lightly, causing me to grin. She came back about a minute later, putting the glass on a coaster in front of me. "Thank you." I nodded. "I'm guessing you're not from around here?" She asked as she cleaned up the counter a bit. I shook my head no as I sipped the ice water. We chatted for a while about this and that, small talk mostly. I glanced up at the clock behind the waitress, seeing that it was getting pretty late. "Can I get a uh,"I looked up at the wall where the menu was. "A chicken sandwich to go please." I decided. The waitress simply nodded with a smile before giving the order to a guy in the kitchen.
I heard the bell from the diner door being opened. I looked behind me and saw four bikers, all sporting similar attire. Black leather jackets, boots, beards, and huge biceps. I turned back around and waited for my order so I could get out of here as quickly as possible. I was getting bad vibes from these guys. Suddenly I felt someone touching my shoulder. I looked and it was one of the bikers. Oh wonderful. "Can I help you sir?" I asked, trying to be as nice as possible to avoid conflict. "You're in my seat kid." The man responded rudely, glaring at me. Is he serious? "Are you serious?" I chuckled. This guy had to be at least 15 years older than me, and he's complaining about a seat in an empty diner. Unfortunately the biker didn't find it as amusing as me and before I knew it I was being dragged outside. "Oh come on, he isn't from around here, give him a break." The waitress tried to help but the guy didn't even look back at her.
Once we were outside he and his 3 friends circled me. Two of them each grabbed one of my arms, to hold me down. The other just stood watch. The biker I had spoke with inside stepped towards me. "Is this really neces-" I was cut off by the sudden pain in my stomach. "Holy-" another punch, this time to the left side of my jaw. The guy threw another punch but this time it didn't hit me. It hit my invisible shield and that only seemed to confuse and make him angrier. Confusion. Suddenly the two guys that were holding me let go and looked at each other. The other two looked like they didn't have a clue as to what was going on. I took this opportunity to run inside the diner, get my sandwich, pay, then run back out and hop on one of the biker's motorcycles.
I drove and drove and drove. I had no idea where I was and at this point there wasn't much around to give me a clue. I stopped in the middle of the road and looked around. I could see that a little bit farther up the road there was a farm and lights were still on. It's my only option at this point, unless I want to sleep in a tree. I drove up to the farm. I got off the bike and walked up to the house before knocking on the door.

Roweena heard the knock and sighed. She dried off her hands and went to the front door. She peeked out the window and saw a man with a motorcycle. It was not a good sight to see that motorcycle. Since she was not happy about having a strange guy that obviously rode the motorcycle on her front porch, she used her speaker to speak to him.
"Hello there, how may I help you?"
"Hello there, how may I help you?"
I was a little startled by hearing the voice that seemingly came from no where. I looked around the porch and saw a speaker box next to the door.
"Oh, uh, hey. The name's Noah, sorry to be bothering you so late at night but I don't have anywhere to stay. You see I'm not from around here so I was wondering if maybe I could stay here for a while. I can pay you too," I rummaged through my jean pockets and counted my remaining cash. "I've only got about 20 dollars but I could also do some work on your farm in return. And I realize this sounds insane because I'm a complete stranger but I'm desperate." I said honestly.

Roweena was down on her luck before and decided to help this guy. She unlocked the door and stepped back.
"Please come in. Brad is not her at the moment but he will be back later. Have you had anything to eat lately?" Roweena spoke as Noah came inside.
"My name is Roweena. I do have a spare bedroom that you can use and we do need a hired hand around here. If you pass Brad's test then you might be hired on. I'll give you meals and room. There is not much beyond that at the moment but I am hoping that in the future we will be able to do more."

I stepped inside the house in relief. At least there are a few good people left in the world.
"Thank you so much. I bought a sandwich at a diner a few miles back but thank you for offering. Is Brad your husband? And you mentioned some tests?" I looked around to take in my surroundings. "You have a lovely home by the way." I said, extending my hand to her.

Roweena smiled as she extended her hand.
"Brad is more like my father. Perhaps you would like something to do but lets get you to where you will stay. The bedrooms are upstairs." Roweena spoke.
"You may use the one at the end of the hall towards the right. The bed is made and there is a bathroom that you may use in the middle of the hallway. We will talk about the tests when you get back down."

Up the stairs, end of the hall to the right. I took a mental note and smiled gratefully at Roweena. "Thank you so much again. I'll come down in a few but I wanna clean up a bit, I probably look like a caveman." I laughed.
"If you want to use the tub, feel free. I'll be down here doing some work in the kitchen. I have a bit of work to do." Roweena spoke then she headed to the kitchen.
She sat down and sent a quick text off to Brad and then began to read her magazines. As she read she made a few notes as well. She could only hope that she did the right thing by letting Noah inside. Her gut said that she did....

I went up the stairs, and found the room I would be staying in and looked around. There was a full size bed already made up and some empty dressers. I took my book bag off and tossed it on the bed before looking through it for a new set of clothes. I looked around the room again and saw a closet. I walked over to it, opened it and found some clean towels and took one.
After I got out of the shower and into my clean clothes I looked at myself in the mirror, examining my face. My jaw hurt from when the guy punched me and I had a few scratches from being dragged out of the diner but other than that I was alright. I went to my room and put my things away then headed down stairs to speak with Roweena.
"Hey there." I smiled as I sat across from her at the kitchen table.

Roweena looked up from her reading and and smiled.
"Come in. There are drinks in the fridge... milk, juice, water or soda. Then have a seat and tell me what kind of a job you are looking for. Kind of compensation and things like that. Brad will be here in a few hours. You don't need to stay up that late if you don't want to however. He'll most likely be tired anyways."

"Well honestly I've never worked on a farm before but I'm a quick learner so I'm sure I'll be able to do whatever it is you need done. As for compensation a roof over my head is really all I can ask for at this point." I said gratefully. "Do you think Brad will mind me staying here? I wouldn't want to cause conflict."I wondered what the guy would be like. Hopefully not like the bikers.
"Brad won't mind. Here is the beginning of your test." Roweena spoke.
"I have a few questions and you will do the demonstration part to Brad. Here are the questions.
What is your ability? How do you use that ability? And why? How well do you feel that you manage your ability?"
Roweena had sensed that he had an ability but what ability did Noah have? She did not understand what it was but perhaps Brad would know what it is.

I raised ny brow and bit my lip nervously. How could she possibly have known? Might as well tell her, what have I got to lose?
"Mind control." I said. "Telekinesis, being able to move objects. I can also cause confusion and create a force field to protect myself or others. I use these abilities usually only if I have to, to protect myself or get out of trouble. I have pretty good control of them although sometimes they do just activate when I'm unable to think straight." I explained shortly. "Like earlier before I arrived some guys were about to beat me up but my force field activated and stopped them. I then used my ability to cause confusion to distract them and got away on one of their bikes. Is that all you you'd like to know?"

Roweena nodded.
"I am sure that you wonder why I ask and why I know. It is because of my ability of 7th sense. It is a rare ability and I am still developing it. Brad is much better than I."
She was not sure what else to say for she did not want to give very much away. Finally she spoke once more
"Farming will be learn as we go or on the job training. I will need to have someone to ride a gator through various areas of the Farm to see if there is anything that might need attention. Watering young fruit trees is another chore. Plowing and planting seeds as well as weeding, fertilization and then harvesting."

"Ride a gator?" I chuckled. "Sounds fun. Does anyone else work for you?" I wondered who and what else I'd come into contact with on the farm. I glanced at the magazines Roweena had been reading. "What are you reading about there?" I gestured to the stack of magazines on the table.
"There is no one else but the two of us. I am trying to save money by adding windmills. And anything else that I can do. I'll be selling what we produce and don't need then preserving some as well. There are no animals besides my horse and I take care of him.
These magazines might have some ideas of how to make more money and save energy. Want to see one?" Roweena asked as she pushed a magazine towards Noah.
"If you see something that might be able to be done, let me know."

I took the magazine and skimmed the pages. "Off the top of my head I'm thinking solar panels but who knows how much that would cost to install."
"You've got a lot of land, why not do something big? Something that'd bring people in. I heard there used to be a circus in this town? In the city where I'm from they come and go, people love them though."

"I have thought about that and I am thinking about starting a museum first then building on as I can. Not having a lot of equipment and no performers will make it rough. I even drew up rough plans in one section that has rumored to have had a circus on at one time. I have more research to do but I think that this might have been an old site for some circus, perhaps a summer camp or a convention center for performers.
This winter I will be working on that project. This fall I am working on putting up a fence...Come sit next to me and I'll show you what I am doing." Roweena said as she opened a briefcase.

(Sorry about the late response, it's been a busy day since it's 4th of July)
I nodded and got up from my seat before walking around the kitchen table to Roweena's side. I peered inside the briefcase, looking over Roweena's plans. She had quite a few good ideas that had been planned out in a lot of detail. "So what's the fence for? What are you trying to keep in, you mentioned you only have a horse."
