Maxie stood, wearing loose grey sweat pants and a sports bra. Ear buds were settled into her ears, an iPod in her hand. She was leaning forward slightly, breathing hard, sweat making her skin shimmer under the light of the overcast sky. She looked tired, but comfortable.
She grabbed her left leg and pulled it up behind her, stretching while she reached for her waterbottle on her hip. She wore a fanny pack, the belt of it holding a waterbottle and a place for her iPod and cellphone.
Shaking her brown hair out of her eyes, she looked at the cafe down the road, pulling a thin t-shirt out of the fanny pack as she headed that way.

Luna had been in the cafe trying to calm her neavers. She had been in a fight with a demon just last night and has a few minor cuts left behind, it didn't even look like she was serously hurt. But she had been only that she healed so quickly covered it up, along with her black and gray striped shirt. She sipped on her ice coffe just trying to forget about it. Her wings still ached from it even with them hidden in her back.
Maxie looked around the crowded cafe, frowning. The front was open, no line, but very few places to sit. She ordered a latte and bought another bottle of water, slipping across from Luna, "You don't mind if I sit here, do you?" She offered the other woman a smile, friendly, sweet. She wasn't looking to piss her off, and would go elsewhere if she wasn't welcome.
Luna looked up at Maxie and shook her head. "It's alright. Go ahead." She gave her a smile as well, kind and gentle. She was deep in though wondering where she was going to next since she had been to almost every city in America in the years it had been around.
Maxie studied the stranger, "I'm Max. Your hair is pretty, is it natural?" She never stopped smiling, lines etched into her face from time.
Luna nodded. "Yeah, thanks. I'm Luna." She stuck out her head to Max as a friendly gesture.
Maxie took the hand. Her fingers were calloused and rough, well used. She smiled broadly, "Wow, your hands are so soft! What's your secret?" She opened her bottle of water, letting the latte sit for now. She began to drink, taking out half of it in under a minute.
Luna shrugged, she didn't pay much attetion to her hands but she did hang around the ocean alot when she could. "I guess just sea water." She took another sip of her coffe since it was still hot.
"Oooh, I love the ocean. I've always wanted to go sailing across. It would be such an adventure!"
Flying as well. Luna though to herself. "Yeah, I've always wanted to sail across the ocean as well but I dealt with flying over seas."
"I've never been in a plane. They scare me." She laughed, "I'd never be able to do anything like hang-gliding or anything. I'd be too scared!" She finished off her bottle of water and sipped at her now, luke warm latte, "So, what do you do for work, hun? I'm a physical education teacher."
"I'm still seaching for a job right now. I just got out of college a few weeks ago." That wasn't full lie, Luna had been looking for a job but she had been out of college since 1674, and she went back for other dergees. She drank some of her coffe that was warm now.
Smiling easily, Maxie looked her over, "What sort of work are you looking for? If you're a teacher, maybe I can help. We're looking for someone to teach ninth and tenth grade English as well as a part-time mathematics teacher."
Luna though about it for a moment. "I can teach English, but math is my weakest area. I did the whole student teacher thing while in college."
Maxie nodded, "Well, I work at McKinley High, so if you bring your resume around, I'll make sure it gets seen. It's a good thing summer break is gunna happen soon or I wouldn't know about any openings. So, what sorts of things do you do for fun, hun?"
Luna shrugged. "Anything new is something fun for me to try out. I've always found it fun to try new things out, see what is waiting."
"Have you ever been caving? That's an experience and a half!"
"No, I haven't. I wanted to try it but school has been getting in the way."
Maxie grinned, "You should come with me. I'm going this weekend - it'll be fun!"
Luna smiled at Maxie. "Sure, what do I gotta lose." She was always willing to try something new, weather it be something she has no clue what is.
