I had moderate success with this the first time I did it, so I thought I would start a thread?
The idea is to write a starter post and then provide a contact. Players who read your post and feel they match your style can write up a mock-reply and send it back to you. This is a PRETEND post, so no one should be expected to finish out the scene. Just give readers a taste of your Rp style and let them decide if it's what they're looking for. Everyone has different tastes!
Link your OC: Tell us about your beb!
Your post: Create a post. Write up a starter that gives readers a taste of your RP style. Make it your average quality.
Your contact: Be sure to leave your method of contact.
Your terms: Summarize when you can. Let folks know your rules of engagement.
See a style that suits you? Send that person a post! Don't miss out over being shy. You got this. Regardless of your style of RP, you're here to have fun, and so are they.
Here's a little dictionary of terms you may see used and what they mean:
High-Lit: High Literature. Players are expected to use proper conjunctions, punctuation, and grammar as often as possible as well as the best spelling they are capable of. (Reads like a good book.)
Mid-Lit: Moderate Literature. Players are only expected to use periods, capitals, and semi-proper conjunctions. As well as decent spelling. (More casual.)
Para RP: A minimum of one paragraph with three to four sentences per post.
Script Rp: One line RP that often consists only of dialogue and briefly described actions.
One-Liner: Literally, one sentence.

BE A GOOD SPIRIT.
Never pressure. Always be polite.
Never put down someone else's Rp style. If it's not your cup of tea, that's fine! But respect them!

Rules of posting!
You should only post here ONCE IN A WHILE. The idea is to create a library of post examples for other players to browse. So by that logic, you only need to post here once. Replies will be sent via your method of contact. If it's been a few weeks, you can post again.

My character: Alf!
Alf was brooding, because there was nothing else to do and he needed some got'damn stimulation. There were no board games, no TV, no books. Just four withering stone walls and a dripping sound that was making his head roar. His mood was slipping.
He shifted his back legs, stretching them out and going belly flat on the floor. He looked like a lion with his arms folded under his chin and a rumble in his throat that persisted despite no one being around to hear it. There was no one to keep him company, and that by far was the most offensive thing. He fancied himself a loner, but he still got lonely. A fella needed someone to show off to once in a blue moon and he hadn't seen so much as a bug, rat or shadow since he'd woken up.
And what a morning I've had. He thought.
He was in chains not of his making. He didn't remember falling asleep, and he certainly
didn't recollect tethering himself to the ground. Which left the question of who did, and where the hell they skipped off to. He had WORDS for that person.
Alf looked up and around without moving his head. The walls were a mangle of stone and pipes. He didn't know that they ran the full length of the place, but he imagined the dripping he heard wasn't as close as it sounded, and that the pipes had a hand in carrying it. He hadn't heard so much as someone sneeze. He tried not to let that bother him, it wouldn't do him a service to panic, but that was a losing battle.
He needed someone to show up so he could threaten them until they let him out.
His logic needed work.
Contact: PMs are fine!
Terms: 18+ only. I'm old. Be a good human, I don't do possessive/jealous OOC types! One para minimum preferred. Mid-lit to high-lit. I'm a nice lady! Please don't be shy.

Cynder Shadows and Lupus 'Raziel' Shadows
A rather short, demonic looking woman would enter the shop, her short, crimson hair neatly combed. From her back extended a set of crimson, tattered bat wings, and a long furry brown tail. Her eyes were solid black, save for the red glow of her pupils, and her skin was pale. The woman wore a navy blue dress, red gloves, and black and red boots. She had a slim, yet athletic build, and her expression betrayed many long eons of wisdom. This woman was the Death Goddess Cynder Shadows.
Following her was a tall young man with long, snow white hair. Which he had tied loosely at the nape of his neck. His eyes were solid red, and glowing. He bore white bat wings with a golden furry tail. He was dressed in a blue tank-top with a black leather jacket, black jeans, leather boots, and black fingerless gloves. He too was pale, and below his right eye was a small birthmark of a crescent moon over a four point star. This was the God of Retribution, Lupus Shadows, son of Cynder.
Now the pair had stumbled upon the shop while on one of their many expeditions to explore their universe, and those beyond. They had been drawn by the sweet smell of baked goods, and decided they would stop for a snack. Of course these gods wouldn't consider themselves to proud to eat at a small bakery, in fact, they loved to do this sort of thing.

Mid-lit at minimum, length doesn’t matter.

Part 1: Writer - Myself
"Me? I'm in the mage's guild. It keeps me busy. I work with elemental storms and... Other things." His eyes looked down at the ground because a lot of the stuff he was working on was personal and for the defense of the village. It was kind of secret. One day he would have to really open up to her... If things continued to go so well.
He looked at her as the blaze flickered and lit up the sky. The air was now as warm as the music that echoed off the cobblestone streets and buildings. She was as fair-skinned as a black elf could be. If Pluvio was Obsidian, she was light Onyx. Her features were as delicate as a fairy's wing.
His eyes narrowed, his cheeks tensed, his lips pursed and he slid a little closer to her. "Would you like to..."
"PLUVIO! You old dog! What have you found here?"
Wow, the timing... Elex appeared from nowhere, boisterous as ever. He sat at the table on the bench opposite of the pair. It creaked under his weight.
Pluvio sighed heavily and rolled his eyes.. "This is Elex... That I was telling you about.. Elex, this is the lovely lady Lari." He hid his face by resting his left hand on his brow.
"Nice to meet you Lari", Elex said with a toothy smile and a wave. "Be careful of this heartbraker, huh?"
"Ay, Elex. Not now. We are talking." Pluvio responded.
The ruddy Elex broke into laughter. "Right! Well then, I shall leave you two to talk", he said sarcastically. He stood up and immediately the table shifted, relieved of his pressure. Just like the pressure that Pluvio felt relieved from. Elex stormed off and immediately started flirting with a giggling group of three women.
Embarrassed, Pluvio peeked out from the corner of his eye and said, "Sorry about that."
He looked and waited for her response. He listened and nodded to her before realizing it wasn't so bad.
"I was going to ask... Would you like to dance?"
Part II - Her Post, Written by Other
<Summary: She added to scene descriptions, mentioned her NPCs. Her post ended with her character apologizing for "being pushy". These posts were after 5-6 others setting the scene, including minor friction between them.
Part III - My Response
The glow of the flames reflected, especially off of the two dark elves who were quickly becoming the center of attention. There were many couples dancing, but this pair seemed to stand out among the diverse crowd of humans and North Elves. They were an intimidating couple, representing a land far away, with such different qualities.
He gently gripped her hand and put his other hand on her waist.
Her comment surprised him and he held back a chuckle. "I like pushy."
Pluvio pulled her in close as the music became softer. It was starting to get warm. Was this the heat from the fire? Or was it something else. Was this what it felt like to be in the right place at the right time?
It felt nice to hold and be held. Pluvio could feel the woman's taut muscles moving as she danced. Her hair was so beautiful with the faint orange glow reflecting off of it. He moved his hand from her hip, nervously, before running two fingers through her hair.
Time seemed to melt away as the dark elf got lost in the other drow's eyes. After a few moments, Pluvio was starting to feel more and more at ease.
"I feel so comfortable with you", he whispered to her. "And you're so beautiful."

Your terms: I'm a descriptive writer, usually 4-5 paragraphs in this quick response setting. I look for 3-5+ in general.
This story is my favorite of all my romance genre RPs. There was a real connection between the writers that helped this story flow. It was all about collaboration and world building. It also shows the way I like to set a scene, as well as use of humor and NPCs. Pluvio was my first character. I've started to build all sorts of characters from aggressive to meek and beyond. I also write several genres. Even within the romance genre, there is room for more than this type of post.
I've started developing that as well and would love a more complex relationship for Pluvio. Maybe he's become coldhearted because he misses the Drow in this post. A broken heart sealed by ice and maybe an unrelated, traumatic event. Your character can break him from that by giving him a new interest.
I may put up shorter examples of other genres.. Fantasy combat. Fantasy magic. I'd love a group, even a group romance RP. If we put 4 characters together, which couples will pair? Will one or even both couples fail to match? Especially if we let the interactions determine the story. I also have been really wanting a good scandal. So that example doesn't mean all my characters are so nice. He's not even necessarily always that nice. My characters are dynamic and I look for that in others.
I enjoy lots of planning and description so that all writers to can try to see the same thing... To literally share the vision. Between the example and this brainstorm session, I hope I've typed enough to find a handful of writers to build with...
Pitch me your ideas and let's brainstorm!
Oh.. I also animate OCs and scenes.
