Iphis (played by Reinage)

Generally with Phrost but idek

The scene was best described as disastrous - that is, to a poor innocent girl who'd never been close to so much as a pea-shooter. There she was, however, crouching behind a car with a rifle doo-hickey, a shakey finger poised on the trigger. Not that she really had any idea how to use it, but she'd seen movies, right? Flames burned nearby, it's cause unclear (to this girl, at least) and yet mostly unnoticed between her and the handful of men that surrounded. Not until now had she thought about counting. Figuring it a good idea to keep track in the event one of them snuck of to cause trouble, though she wouldn't really mind if everyone dispersed, she bobbed her head at each - The old man she'd been spending the evening with, and frankly, had grown a strong attachment to, three.. four other men she'd otherwise have little chance against, all taking turns pointing their guns at eachother, and one man who lay on the ground, fate already having claimed him. Iphis peeked along the barrel of the gun, aiming it at the most aggressive of the five, suddenly wondering how her day would have gone if it started differently - if she never took pity on the poor looking old man at the cafe. When a gunshot went off and she saw the old man fall - instinctively she pulled the gun up and shot, rather, where she heard the bang. Did anyone even know she was there? Somebody dropped, she saw, and she quickly ducked, hiding her feet behind the wheel of the car as if she were invisible there.";

The gunshot drew his attention like nothing else would have, save a starving mountain lion growling at him. It was a rifle; that was the surprising part. He threw himself forward against a car and surveyed everything around him. A.. small, small town. One grocery store. A general goods store. A post office. A diner. And a bar. That's where the trouble'll be, then. Basic human nature. So deciding, he slid along the length of the car, rounding the edge carefully. Experienced eyes took in the scene. One man down, four pouring lead into the general vicinity of a small girl. Every shot was missing, but she had gotten lucky when she returned fire and got one of the five.

His thought process didn't take long. In fact, it wasn't much of a thought process. It was more of an instinctual urge that made one of his hands travel down to the corresponding hip - this time the left- and then bring hand, and the gun up as well, and then it fired nerve impulses in his hand and finger, causing him to aim and fire four times in one smooth motion almost as if he did it daily, or near enough to count.

Upon hearing a stillness, the girl blew out a breath, barely remembering to breath at all. Sure, everything got worse before it got better, and the man she, for some reason, sought to protect, probably lay dead and still bleeding on the ground.. Assuming she didn't get lucky and that everyone had just shot each other all at once, Iphis slowly turned to look upon the scene again - instead of just hiding there while nothing happened, and frankly, she didn't want to stay around long enough to get caught up with the police, too. That was self defense, right? She looked at the five, either writhing, dying or dead.. A glimpse of somebody else stopped her from running right out into butt-nowhere. It wasn't necessarily a surprise, of course at least somebody would have heard something, looked.. Though she still felt frozen, there, wondering what to do now, who's side he was on or if she was the next target. The rifle still in her possession was appealing, though she made no threat with it, except in her mind. She knew that pulling the thingy worked to make bad things happen, and at this point that was all she needed to know. Even if it needed some sort of reloading, she didn't have anything to do so with - which would make a good excuse if she was accused of not knowing how to use the thing. Unless it jammed, instead. She'd heard of things like that happening. Maybe she'd go rampaging then, swinging the thing in all directions.. Who even still uses these things, anyway? She bit her lip, slowly dipping behind the safety of the car, while still looking at the unknown man on the side..
