Story:
After months of inner conflict caused by Kyles second soul fighting for control of his body things are finally coming to a head. Set in Mideval times which is where Kyle is originally from. He had recently gotten into a conflict with a wizard specializing in time based magic. Kyle was happy to be back home bit then the problems started occurring.

Kyle stood there quietly at the edge of the treelike looking up at the sky. He sighed lightly as he started walking through the woods quietly. His chains wrapped about his torso slightly clinking against one another.

She stood half in the world, half out, moving something through the rift. The world she was previously in was a few feet below this one, and she was lifting small items and placing them in the grass next to her. She had not encountered anyone of this dimension or time and therefore did not have her bearings. She moved the bricks quickly and tossed them into a crude pile as she was unsure whether or not this place could be trusted. Soon she was done with her task and she stepped fully into this world. Before closing the rift hole, she took in her surroundings and made a quick count of her loot. With everything in order, she put her left forefinger and thumb together at the top of the hole and pulled downward to the bottom, closing it as if she were using a zipper.

She pushed back her hood, showing her hair to be short, chin length with a slight wave. She needed to be able to see the sky in order to tell the time of day by the relative position of the sun. Other that her hair style, the rest of her seemed unchanged. Sighing, she went about her work of piling the bricks.

Among the gently blowing breeze that surrounded his being the slight clinking sound of something other than his chains reached his ears stopping a moment and looking around he silently muttered to himself.

"There's nothing in these woods that naturally make that sound..."

His curiosity overtaking him he turned and followed the faint sound soon catching aight of the woman playing with the bricks. He slowly began to approach her but stopped and back stepped a few feet and his arms wrapped about his gut. One of his eyes then turned red as a low growl escaped his throat. Said growl soon turned into a deafening roar that echoed about the woods as he flung his head back and threw his arms to his side. After a moment he fell to his knees panting heavily.

"No...your part of me. A secondary piece. You won't...I won't let you take control when you are not needed."

Ilo's head snapped in the direction of his noise. She had frozen at the sound of a growl... While she was certain she could handle herself, the thought of a wild animal prowling about didn't amuse her. She was no good with animals and she didn't know what time period she was it. It could have been a dinosaur, for all she knew. The bricks of metal forgotten, she looked around her, hood still dropped. Her facial scars seemed pinker, almost more fresh.

"'Ello?" She knew an animal would not answer her, but it was worth trying.

He knelt there in silence and glanced through the trees towards her. After a moment he finally stood and walked towards her once more. As he neared her he glanced towards the bricks then back at her.

"Well...this is a surprise. Normally people don't venture in these woods save for Kage and Dracon.

Ilo, young and pretentious, put her hands on her hips, replying: "I venture where I please." She managed to stand in front of her haul, which seemed to be bricks of gold. She tried to look intimidating in case this random man wanted to steal her goods.

Her smug grin faltered momentarily. "Where is it that I've ventured, any how?"

He chuckled softly.

"You can relax. I could be considered a friend in these parts. And with that haul a friend would be good to venture through these woods at least. Welcome to Sarvantia. A world who's dominant races are Kages such as myself and the human descendent of dragons called Dracons. There are many other races. Some friendly. Some not so much."

He then chuckled softly as he glanced at her haul again.

"Would you like a hand carrying that?"

She had not yet acquired her bag of infinite holding that would make her life of crime infinitely easy, so yes, she did need the help. But she couldn't be sure that she should trust him.

"I am not from here. I am not either of these peoples you've mentioned and I do not want my loot stolen. I went through a lot to get it." She puffed her chest and made a firm face. She had in fact not done much to get the gold other than rifting into the building and rifting out.

He chuckled a bit at her comment as he pointed a finger at her loot then pointed to the sky as it started hovering a bit.

"I knowyou are neither. You bear know physical dragon traits that identify the Dracons now do you have the hint of Kage blood as my second soul would have informed me of it by now. Be grateful it was me who happened upon you. The Kage who represent the element of fire are abundant in these parts and are not so friendly. Or rather they weren't last I was here."

He then chuckled once more as he turned and began walking off, her stash hovering behind him.

"When your new to an area a friendly guide is something wise to have."

"H-hey! Wait!" She scrambled to catch up with him, or more importantly her gold. She was not so wise to the ways of the worlds just yet and she let her emotions rule her too much. She didn't know what this man was capable and she wasn't about to find out so she was forced to follow him.

With a frown, she tossed her hood up to cover her face and fell in step with him. "And why should you be that person? You haven't even told me your name."

He glanced at her and smirked lightly.

"And I don't recall you telling me your name last we met... Or rather last we met for me. When you meet me for you. So I'd say that makes us about even."

He then chuckled softly as he looked back forward.

"You see I'm originally from this period of time. But I had a rather interesting run in with your future self in another time line. Geez I hate fighting mages who specialize in time magic..."

Ilo took a double take. He was speaking in circles and it took her a moment to catch up. "Wait, wait, wait. You know me from the future?" Her brows lifted under her voluminous hood. She was skeptical of his claim... But she had only really discovered the true potentail of her powers. It was entirely possible that she and this man met another time in... another place? She shook the thoughts from her head. She wanted his name.

She increased her speed in order to stand in front of him, effectively stopping his advance. Her hand was held out in a shaking position. "Ilo Howell."

He glanced at her hand and smirked once more.

"And I introduced you to my way of shaking hands." he spoke and he clasped her wrist and forearm area in his hand.

"Warriors handshake. Done in a sign of trust as during the shake the two individuals can search the other for hidden weapons. You rebuttled this claim by saying I should have shaken your other hand as it's the one that could allow you to rip my heart from my chest without leaving any signs. And my names Kyle. Kyle Lockhart. Perhaps back in the mind of your future self you remember this and as such that would be good reason to have not introduced yourself then. And your scar..."

He then slightly tightened his grip on her wrist and reached up towards her hooded face with his free hand only to stop it inches away.

"It is still relatively new. I guess it couldn't be more than a few months old at this point in your life. Perhaps a tad longer but not by much."

Her expression had remained unchanged right up until he addressed her scar. Her nostrils flared as did the plumes of light around her eyes in the dark. Her entire body had tensed up at the mention of her unsightly wound. She searched his eyes for some ulterior motive. And her clenched jaw relaxed enough to talk.

"You're still holding the wrong arm." She held up the one encased in metal garments. She smirked at her threat, but let her lips and arm fall. "It's almost been a year."

He chuckled softly.

"I know I held the wrong one. I trusted you enough to not go for it last time so I felt I could again this time."

He then dropped his hand from her face as he smiled a bit.

"I'm going to tell you something rather amusing. Well. It's amusing to me at least. Perhaps not so much for you."

He then released her arm and pivoted his way around her.

"I actually kind of like your scar. Wish I had one like it. Brings out your features a bit."

Unbeknownst to her, he had in fact seen the entirety of said scar; all the way down her left side. She did hate the marring of her skin, but the disfigurement had given her so much power in return that she couldn't hate it entirely. Only hide it.

She followed him silently, unsure as to what his game was. She wanted her loot; she needed it for food and lodging until her next heist. "Where are we going?"

He glanced back at her and smiled softly.

"My home. After traveling through rifts you must be tired. My place will give you safe haven. As well as all the accommodations you should need. Including training facilities should wish to improve your combat skills during your time here. And a Library if you wish to further your knowledge of various subjects. Matter of fact."

He then turned suddenly and motion with his hand as a breeze would suddenly begin blowing about her.

"If you wish I could carry you. It would be no burden on me."

To say that she freaked out would not be an understatement. She was not used to being treated well, nor did she think she wanted to be. It would make her soft. Unbalanced by the sudden wind, she became agitated and the plumes of light about her eyes erupted into what resembled flames as the gauntlet on her left arm became tinged in the same color. She waved her arms to regain equilibrium, but she couldn't stop the mana once it was set in motion; a burst of energy erupted from her becoming a circular radius pushing out from her arm. It should have knocked Kyle back.

"Don't do that again!" Ilo fumed, her hair and hood windswept away from her irritated face.

He smirked as the plume of mana approached in slow motion to his eyes. He quickly thrust his other hand forward causing another burst of wind to erupt outwards. This one however stayed attached to his hand and formed a wall blowing the mana away from him.

"Your future self is much more sturdy."

He then suddenly reached up and poked her forehead gently.

"Keep frowning that hard you'll tear your facial muscles in two. And muscular structure repair is something I haven't learned yet. So relax a bit. If you wish to be that jumpy then my offer tocarry you shall still stand. I'll just do it physically rather than with my wind."

He then chuckled softly again.

"Is your future self so outgoing?!" She flattened her outfit and began to walk again. "I can walk all on my own, thank you." Though she was feeling the effects of opening and closing the rifts. She was loathe to admit it however. She was trying to find a way to get her haul safely back into her possession. "So, how do we know each other in the future?"
