Ezra Gray (played anonymously)

Ezra stood, looking down at his beautiful creation, thinking about bringing her to life, but the doctor didn’t dare yet. Not when things were not quite perfect, and there was the matter of his annoying assistant who never really left his mind, it seemed. He sighed loudly and covered up the monster with a clean sheet and added another block of ice to the space under it.

It wouldn’t do to have her rot while he waited to improve her. To bring her to perfection. He didn’t want to disappoint his mentor, but with Doctor Frankenstein dead and his monster gone, what was he to do? There was so much to improve on.

He didn’t take off his gloves, covered in blood and gore from harvesting. His apron was dirty as well and his tool belt was covered in various sharp implements. It was just as well that he was home alone and not expecting anyone.

Surprise! The doorbell rang, interrupting this terrifying scene.

On the stoop a teenaged girl with a wagging tail and perky canine ears stood bouncing in excitement, holding the classic orange pumpkin bucket. She only had a few treats so far, but she couldn't wait for more. She was dressed in her best rags for the occasion.

Ezra grumbled as he went to open the door. Why had he given his maid the night off? Shouldn't she answer the door? After all, he had important work to do. He took off his face mask and held it in his hands and walked upstairs to find a note on the door from his son and a little bowl of treats.

Ezra opened the door and looked out at the strange creature before him. It wasn't the first time he had come across someone less than human, but this girl looked very strange to him, "Whatcha want?" There was no time to be polite - he hadn't even read the note telling him she would want a piece of the cake that was carefully wrapped in wax paper beside him.

"I want the treats from trick or treating," the girl responds with wide, earnest eyes. As he eyes her, she is eyeing him back, her nostrils flaring as she takes in the scent of blood and dead flesh.

She looks more than a little curious, and leans slightly to the side to try and see around him even as she brandishes her plastic pumpkin at him.

Ezra looked confused for a quick, short moment. He looked at the note Ivan had penned and then to the cake, "Ah, yes." As it was, the door to the lab in the basement was perpendicular to the front door and while open it didn't offer a good look in. The smell of chemicals and blood did waft out, though.

Luckily the wrapping around the cake was tight and folded flat to keep the smells out. Ezra scooped out one piece, seeing the dark brown cake topped with a thick, creamy white frosting. He gave Ayoka a tight lipped, mirthless smile, "I believe this is what you would like. A treat."

Ayoka's tail begins to wag at a feverish pace when she catches sight of the amazing treats at this house. Her wide brown eyes go even wider, and her mouth falls open into an O of surprise, showing her pointed teeth. She seems stunned speechless, her ears perking even further and her feet rising up onto her toes, leaning ever so slightly forward. She almost seems to be begging wordlessly for the cake to be put into her pumpkin bucket.

Ezra reached over and sort of dropped the cake into the bucket, "Here is your treat?" He raised the word "treat" as though unsure of what was supposed to happen, "Happy All Hallow's Eve."
Ayoka (played anonymously)

Ayoka flashes an odd smile, and scampers sideways as soon as the cake is in her bucket. She goes bounding around the house, trying to see into the windows.

The windows into the first floor are mostly unobstructed, letting Ayoka look into the kitchen, a small sitting room, a den and a small storage room.

The lower basement windows were blacked out with paint. All of them were locked and the door that went into the basement had three locks on the outside and probably more one-way locks on the other side. Curious that it was so well locked up.
