"Stars" they believe that many Great Spirits fill the universe. Their Matron Goddess is Pelos which they believe to be the spirit that created them. Their religion requires discipline in pleasing and honoring the spirits by living 'pure' and preserving the connection between this realm and the spirit world! They violently abhor most forms of necromancy that involve tampering with the dead and otherwise giving life back to something that has passed on.
What is a Peloroshi? A race of wolf-like, nomadic humanoids.
A Peloroshi is a wolf-like humanoid that comes from the continent of Peloskast, they are physically characterized by the unnaturally tall wolfish ears that blend outwards from their heads, and the matching tail protruding from just below the rear of their waist.
Mentally they place strong value in the tribes and families they are raised in, this is connected to a pack mentality that they all share, the draw and need for community is instinctual for a Peloroshi. In extreme cases a lone Peloroshi will become depressed, lose sense of self and otherwise become unhinged as a result of racial isolation. Because of this very few Peloroshi leave Peloskast.
They are otherwise similar to a Human in that they come in a variety of different shapes and sizes, personalities and temperaments. Though some traits are more common than others, this will be detailed more particularly below!
What is life like on Peloskast?
Peloskast is the native homeland of all Peloroshi, generally speaking a large portion of the continent is composed of a vast desert that spreads from the center of the continent towards the east. There are otherwise plains and woodlands to the east and north-east, and coastal areas that outline the land on all sides, most hospitably along the southern edge. In the north there is a tundra and in the west an isolated plains tucked behind a vast mountain range.
Peloroshi society is close-knit and secluded from other races. They live in large collections of tribes and function as a unit. Children are raised together regardless of their parentage as the tribe leaders have believed for generations that all of the tribe should be responsible for 'their' young as a whole. This solidifies the unity their race strives for.
Life from tribe to tribe differs but most share common customs and core beliefs. In general a young Peloroshi is veered towards a profession that fits their natural talents. Every member of a tribe is expected to work towards the fulfillment of both their own well-being, and the well-being of their family and tribe as a whole.
In recent times a tribe called the Sashendek'ka has sought to challenge tradition through wide spread conquest, they have subjugated much of the southern coast and presently make war with the eastern tribes.
What does a Peloroshi believe in?
All healthy minded or otherwise 'normal' Peloroshi believe in the pursuit of spiritual balance, and veneration in their Matron Goddess Pelos.

Among these spirits were four tricksters known as Katehka of the North, Laomi of the South, Rhy of the East and Daolan of the West. The four worked together to steal attributes from many spirits to give the Quiet World life and sound. To hide this from the other spirits, the four began to sing loudly and behave as wildly as they were able to drive the spirits' attentions from them. The world now had sound, and life, but was too dark to see by. So the four tricksters stole light from the stars, creating the sun and the moon so that they could look upon the 'life' that had grown in the World. Instantly, they fell in love with what they had created in all of their mischief, but their actions had angered the other Great Spirits. To punish them, the four were connected in the sky and bound forever so that they and no other spirit could ever enter the World nor enjoy what resided inside.
However, one Spirit among them was sympathetic. The Spirit Pelos created a realm with her light that touched the World. With the remaining light of her own star, she hid 'life' within the World with her Sight. Through them, the spirits could visit the World and experience its wonders. Her last wishes, before she faded and vanished from existence, was for the other spirits to honor her sacrifice.
They were called the Peloroshi after their mother spirit and peace was returned to the heavens.

Click here to read about Shaman Walkers!Peloroshi, according to their own Lore, were chosen at the beginning of creation to be worldly connections to the realm of mysteries and spirits. Their clan leaders are often chosen by those with the most acute sixth sense and 'sight' as a result. However, there are those that have been dubbed 'Walkers' for their ability to walk through both the world of the living and the realm of spirits. There is no known pattern for the birth of these types, except that only two are known to be born in each generation.
When a 'Walker' is born they are sent deep into 'The Forest of Shadows' to be trained in handling their natural ability, along with learning the rules formed for those with the gift. This is necessary, a Walker is in constant danger of being lost in the spirit realm if they do not practice self-control, and require an understanding into the nature of the spirits themselves. Typically, the Walkers remain in a hidden forest sanctuary and serve as guides to their brethren. Rarely do they ever leave, except to form or take the lead of a particular tribe.
What else lives on Peloskast? The Horrors of Peloskast.
Peloroshi have historically rejected contact with the outside world, they have been stringent isolationist and do not respond well to the presence of other humanoid races on Peloskast. It is a lone continent with no direct connections to other lands, and because of this they have a xenophobic tendency to drive away foreigners, an unintended consequence of this is that Peloskast is home to a variety of outlandish and exotic life forms that are little known to people from other parts of the world.
An example of the wildlife that visitors might expect to find; in the eastern plains a species of feral lion known as Chubrebre or Grass Lion contests the native Peloroshi for territory, meanwhile in the central dunes, massive spiders called Sashenkukei make nests in enclaves beneath the sands and await unfortunate wanderers or caravans. In the far north there are even rumors of nameless creatures or spirits that snatch away travelers during snow storms.
Sometimes what is typically normal is born strange. It is not unheard of for the native animals (including to a lesser extent Peloroshi) to grow five times their normal size, take on strange colourations or behave unnaturally. These are called anomalies by the Peloroshi, and are regarded as either fortunate or unfortunate on a case to case basis. It is not uncommon for each tribe to have their own superstitions that guess at the origin of these individuals and animals.
