Harpur Eberhardt

Harpur was once a slayer of all manner of magical beast. He ranked highly in his guild and took great pride in his role as a hero and protector to the city. He was adored, showered with fame and gifts, honored by the king... but this all changed when the king passed away and his rather more progressive son inherited the throne. The new king quickly disbanded slayers guilds or groups of any kind and eventually married a fae wife as a way to bridge the gap between kingdoms, it was a bold and poorly received political move.

Over the years times changed and Harpur's heroism became a topic of taboo to many, once brave acts were perceived in a new light and the city began to see a larger and larger population of non-mundane and supernatural citizens or visitors. Now forced to coincide with that he believed to be abhorrent and unholy, Harpur became a guardsman and was fast tracked to a job as a captain due to his experience. In this position he continues to make life hard for supernaturals while favoring the mundane, but his dream job is with the Faewatch. Deep down Harpur genuinely believes he is protecting the city from a threat they've become blind to, that another war will start at any moment with the fae past the border. Due to his well known, extremist views he has been blacklisted from joining the faewatch for fear that he'd cause irreparable damage between the east and the west.

Harpur is a bigot and the true origins of his bigotry remain unknown to those around him.
