His appearance often leads folks to assume he's a rebellious troublemaker which suprises them when they get to know him and figure out how dutiful he is. Many mischievous individuals try to befriend him and get him to join in there disobedient activities which he'll usually rat them out for, being described as a wet blanket countless times. However if he views the cause as good he can indulge in such task without telling.

Being part cheetah has granted him amazing speed, but also like cheetahs he has poor stamina and can't go fast for too long.
His big bushy eyebrows often make folks think he's mad at them, it doesn't help the fact he does have anger issues.

HISTORY
Born and raised in Griffonstone, he always struggled fitting in and was fascinated in what else was out there, but too nervous to adventure out. One day a blue pegasus and pink earth pony visited town seeming to hang out with Gilda primarily. After they visited something seemed to of changed with Gilda she was much kinder and eventually some of that kindness spreaded to the other griffons! Making Griffonstone much more bearable to live in.

Eventually word spread that Ponyville had opened up a school for ALL creatures, called "The School Of Friendship" even know the name sounded cheesy, these same ponies were the ones that helped Griffonstone making Hot Rod curious about attending, this would also give him the chance to explore beyond GriffonStone and meet new creatures.

While a student at The School Of Friendship, he was an overachiever trying to be a good example for other students and overall was considered a "teacher's pet" by many of the students. He managed to get the task of being hall monitor which he really took a liking too. Always trying to keep everyone in order.

After School he wanted to stay in Ponyville despite the fact the majority of the other Griffons went back to Griffonstone or elsewhere. He grew to love this place.
In the end he became a police officer for Ponyville, being one of the first Griffons to ever have such a position in Ponyville. He'd also occasionally be sent on missions in other notable locations such as: Canterlot, Manehattan and The Crystal Empire.
