Lauren lives in the future. She was born in the lower echelon of Chapmanshire where she lived a happy life as a gatherer and healer. Her family struggled to make ends meet, but her home was full of laughter, warmth, and freedom. Other than the required periodic testing of those under 21, as long as they met their work quotas they were left alone by the powers that be.

She is witty, intelligent, dreamy, and compassionate. She sometimes lives in a fantasy world in her head, dreaming of the perfect world. She is also headstrong and can be considered difficult if she disagrees with a position.

Unfortunately, Lauren tested exceptionally high, off the charts high, on her final testing. She was forced to leave her precious home and placed in a grooming house in the upper echelon where she was to be polished up for a different type of life. Rumors traveled throughout that she was giving the groomers quite a bit of trouble.

A male in the uppers echelon also tested off the charts, so Lauren was matched to him for marriage, and to breed the perfect children for the future of Chapmanshire.
