Mello

Appearance ➤ Vermello has a small and unimposing stature, often overlooked or going unnoticed. Due to her size, this means she frequently is stuck in cramped places trying to clean or fix things on ships that others can't reach. She doesn't have pronounced womanly curves, looking more lanky and slender instead. Usually, she seems to be a mix of unkempt from working and put together enough to be presentable. Despite two fox tails and fox ears, she doesn't know that she's a kitsune and just assumes she's some sort of fox-mixed person with an additional tail that sprouted mysteriously after a notable incident. She also doesn’t realize she can turn full fox or full human.

Personality ➤ Vermello is a hard worker, intelligent but not really book smart, determined, faithful, and loyal. Many would describe her as adorable, a ray of sunshine, happy, a massive people-pleaser, and eager to help out in any way that she can. She wants people to be happy so tries to keep them smiling, which also means that she absolutely cracks jokes at the wrong time in social situations. Above all else, she likes to take care of people….a lot and will share snacks with them to bring a little bit of brightness to their day. There's also a sense of wonder that's still strong and ever-present in her, especially when it comes to new experiences or things. She doesn’t complain much at all about anything and absolutely suppresses any personal trauma, opting to slap on a happy face instead. If she looks worried, the world’s going to hell.

Skills ➤ She has worked on several sea-faring ships as a deckhand...Which means she can cook, she can clean, she seems to have endless energy, and she’s really great at laundry especially since she can sew to mend clothing. She knows the basics of bandaging and wrapping wounds. She also can play wooden flutes.

Quirks ➤ Vermello has a crazy distinguishable laughter/giggling (similar to a fox's sound) that carries easily, meaning people better not crack her up while the crew is sleeping or she'll wake the entire ship. She also tends to have little paper packets of snacks stashed in her pockets.

Likes ➤ A whole lot of everything including snacks, music, working, talking, cooking, eating, paper-crafts, doing things with her hands, keeping busy, singing, humming, dancing, new places, meeting people, making friends, seeing people happy, and being a small part in a bigger thing to help complete things.

Dislikes ➤ People who are cruel for fun.

Brief History ➤ Her way back when memory is kinda sketchy, doesn’t really know why. Her earliest memory was on a ship some 10 years ago, already working and already familiar the crew. Since then she's been hopping from ship to ship, working and going where the winds take her. She doesn’t remember her own name, or if there even was a name other than Vermello. It was the name one of the kept calling her as far back as she can remember. She’s always been good at helping on deck and around ships, doing things that needs to get done that others might not think of. Her previous ship was destroyed by pirates. She was found and rescued by another ship and brought to The Golden Tether, a place somewhat familiar since she has been in port there several times previously.
