Since the dawn of time heaven and hell have been at war with each other. Hellhounds are the more infamously known creatures that spawn from the lucifers pits baring the power of the demon they are attached to. Little does one know though is how they even came to be.. Resurrection hounds were the first of their kind. Sired from the will of an angel to help it with its job. If a hound was lucky they were sired by one of the Archangels and given more of a purpose. To protect the innocent and shine light in a time of darkness, chaos, and corruption. Over time a hound can choose its own path, one of the light and remain attached to the angel who created it, or one of darkness and fall to the gates of hell where it would Sire to a demon and thus become a hellhound; In this process the hound would give up its holy light and replace it with infernal essence. Due to the realization of how powerful a demon can be more and more resurrection hounds have fallen into the hands of lucifers thus their numbers were truly dwindling to the point that they seemed to be wiped of existence. Only those who are truly loyal remain with those whom have sired them and the creator.. God.

Forms
)
At birth a hound has three forms but mainly only one is used until they have been given a task to be sent to earth. The first form is the Wolf. Resembling the appearance of a wolf as well as characteristics but the are far from just that. When it comes to size they are larger than your average wolf, think twilights werewolves but a bit smaller. This form is mainly used when a hound is still in heaven but on rare occasions one would use this form when traveling large distances and flight isn't an option; Another addition to this form with the wings that would be seen by their shoulder blades. Much like an angels they are white; Those who have fallen and became hellhounds their wings would turn black or grey. The second form that the hounds can take is a Bi-Ped version, think Van Helsing style werewolves. In Size they stand much taller than your usual werewolf but only a few feet or so. Just like the feral version this form still has it wings but flight is disabled due to the weight and sheer size. The bi-ped form is mainly used for fighting, often when having to fight a demon or even a hellhound but can be seen being used when having to take on something equally or stronger than those. When in either feral or bi-ped form speech isnt existent, their only form of communication would be telepathy between their own kind. For their final form they take the image of a Human. This form is mainly used while a hound is sent to earth for a mission. Mortals dont often take kindly to a giant wolf looming over them so over the years resurrection hounds have been adapting a fleshy form to help them blend in and walk among the mortal plane without issue. A hound can pick how they want to look or even what gender they want to take. This is also considered the most weakest of forms that they have out of the three in total. Height and weight vary on the hound's own size. The smaller the human the smaller the hound.

Strengths & Weaknesses

Strength - Resurrections hounds are born with a good bit of power in themselves but they draw most of it from the angel they are sired from. If a hound is created by a basic angel then their power is limited to what that angel does specifically. Those who are created by Archangels are able to channel extra energy from their creators. In general though a hound gains it strength from the one it is sired by whether resurrection hound or hellhound, though a hellhound will lose it's ability to channel energy from its Sired angel it will have to channel its energy from the demon who turned and sired the fallen hound. When in a time of need they can find strength on Holy ground such as churches, they can also find strength in Holy objects when in a time of desperate need but it wont affect them enough like being on holy ground would.
Weakness - While they have the ability to heal, if they're hit in the heart, they will die and ascend back to Heaven, where they will lay asleep until they're reborn and re-sired by another arch angel. They also have a weakness when it comes to powerful witches who's power is divined by Hell. So, AKA, darker witches. It hurts them if used right and it can weaken their ability to call out to brethren, as well as summoning holy light to fight with. So all they would have is the remaining strength and the minor abilities of flight and altered speed. Some telepathy. Along with this, objects enchanted with dark magic, such as weapons, make it so that resurrection hounds can only heal from the wounds they inflict at a normal, humanly pace. So if they're stabbed in the gut or something, they would need to seek medical attention so it doesn't kill them since they can't heal from it.

Abilities

A lot of the hounds are born with basic abilities such as:
-Telepathy: This allows them to communicate with each other while in other forms besides human or when a private conversation is needed. They can also communicate telepathically with the person they have bonded with whether that is another hound or not.
-Empathy: All hounds have this but some are more developed than others. The long a hound is on earth the more of a chance they have at learning what emotions are and projecting that. Where as Hounds who have been in heaven longer are less likely to know how to hand such a thing as emotions and feelings. Its like teaching a child how to walk, they have to learn how to feel and project their emotions. Often enough most will understand mortal emotions but find it hard to show them.
-Flight: Much like angels hounds are born with wings. These wings are fully capable of flight except when in their bi-ped form, it is the only form that they cannot fly in. If their wings are cut off they wont grow back. When in flight they are silent, think like and owl when hunting.
-Telekinesis: Their telekinesis ability isn't quite that strong. They hold enough power to move objects from one place to another or do basic lifting; but they cannot move people or large living things. Its mainly used as a distraction when in battle.
-Supernatural Perception: Nothing is able to hide from them even when glamored. A hound is able to detect what a supernatural creature is species and type wise. Though they cannot detect just how powerful said person is. Sometimes they end up biting off more than they can chew when approaching a target.
-Enhanced Features: This is a given really. Much like werewolves when in human form they have an more than average strength and agility, which means they can run faster jump higher and take more damage than a regular mortal but this does not make them invincible.
-Other abilities: Unlike the basics listed above some hounds who are born to archangels obtain more powerful abilities; These abilities include dream walking, resurrection, and smiting. These abilities take a lot of energy which can render a hound to go unconscious during or after the ability is performed.

Life Style

When it comes to pack life and what not Resurrection Hounds are considered lone wolves. It is rather uncommon to see two hounds working together but it isn't completely unheard of. It is though common for a hound to think that they are the last and or only one. With heaven having its tiers one isn't to know if they are the last or not. A very rare sight is to find a bonded pair of hounds.
Hounds are very non conflict oriented as well. They prefer to sit on the sidelines and watch a fight rather than participate. The only time you can find a hound fighting is if it has to deal with the task given to them(The reason why they are on earth) or the Angel they have been sire from gives them the green light to fight.
When it comes to territory and being territorial that is a rare and or uncommon sight. Most hounds are not materialistic. The way a hound can become territorial is if they have become protective of something or someone, they have a task that requires it, or their Sire has taught them how. Other than that it is common to find that they really don't give two shits about what is going on.
Like most creatures hounds can form a bond. This is something they take very seriously and it almost never happens. It isn't exactly something they actively search for. Bonding is rather complicated and can take quite a long time to do. Both parties have to build up a high level of trust and get to know each other on multiple levels. Romantic feelings are extremely rare and often confuse them thus why it takes a bond so long to build; It could be years before they even realize that they are in love or have a sense for it. Once formed the two partners are together for life completely voted to one another. Due to their extreme dislike for their own kind and others around them hounds are completely monogamous and will stick with the one partner they bonded with; Cheating and searching for side pieces is considered a big shame and distrust - can lead to the bond breaking. If a bond breaks it can literally destroy a hound mentally and possibly keep them from finding another partner, if there was a chance at that hound feeling emotion? The breaking of a bond could wipe that slate and give a hound a reason not to want to even try. There is also a bond that doesn't have to do with love or anything romantic, the bond is mainly one of complete trust which is what happens most of the time when a hound does form a bond. It is very rare for one to be formed over romantic feelings.
