  Syd was born on dying farmland as the youngest child to a family not exactly suited to raising children, brought up under fundamentalist ideals. His childhood life involved a lot of negativity and while his parents were never definitively horrendous people, they often overlooked or flat out ignored horrendous events in the lives of both their children. Because Syd, unlike his sister, did not conform to the will of his parents nor ever meet their outlandish expectations he was branded a blacksheep, cast out and devalued.
  
  When his mother passed away during preteen years and his father’s drinking took a steep rise, things only continued to worsen at breakneck pace. He’d lash out, experiment in various dangerous things, wreak havoc galore; there was nothing he wouldn’t try if only to get some kind of attention from somebody – and he did but not the kind he asked for, then again, and again, and again. Every time he acted out he invited evil to his doorstep and with each offense against him he saw more and more unresolved darkness surrounding him, more and more people subject to the same injustices who were denied recompense for one ass-backwards excuse or another (user, whore, disabled, ill, poor, rich, non-believer, too pretty, too ugly, asking for it… they deserve it). With each year he saw more people like him and more people who would prey on people like him, never trying to remove himself from the noxious lifestyle.
  
  In his seventeenth year a typical party night among unsavory company turned sour when he stared death in the face, playing witness to mankind sprawled before him like a book offering every filthy secret. Everything he saw brought a disgusted fury to the core of his being. He saw the world and all he could see was how broken it was, thus rage and pain unattended for years came to a malevolent head.
  
  Once Sydney finally rose from his hospital bed he promptly vanished to pursue this found purpose, to become something capable of doing what he thought must be done. Since then and with the help of carefully controlled or chosen ‘allies’, he has remained in the wind, locked down in a vicious mindset that blinded him to his own immorality and worsened by the day until finally he was RED.
