The Buck
Poised and proper was how the nyala carried himself, even after all he'd been through. The buck was always well-groomed and dressed in the finest clothing that money could buy. A ember orange scarf made of silk was wrapped around his neck, hiding the golden collar beneath. His chest was draped in a sheer, red cloth that tied off just above his waist on the right side and exposed a portion of his chest. His legs were clothed in similar fashion; the bottoms of his harem pants were rolled up and tied off just beneath the knee. Around his waist was a solid gold, fitted belt with a clasp in the middle; small titian tassels looped through on the sides added as a subtle accent.
The only obvious thing that designated him a slave were the golden bangles that circled his wrists and ankles. After the family he had worked for was overthrown and had their power stripped from them, all of their assets were liquidated, including the prized buck. As fate would have it, he'd been sold back into slavery and is now on the auction block, a prize for the highest bidder.
