  Jessie is a lycanthrope--- a werewolf in common tongue. Lycanthropy, despite tales to the contrary, is inherited and not related to curses nor to sickness, and therefore cannot be cured. Werewolves are often grouped together by humans regardless of characteristics, but there are actually two distinct types-- the Fos and the Távdi.
  
  The Fos are most easily identified by their appearence, which is animalistic and wolven from the time they are born to the time they die. The Fos, unlike in most legends, do not have the ability to transform and can take no energy from the moon, full or otherwise. They are the physically weaker of the two, and lack the bloodlust of thier lunar brethren; instead, they are charged from the sun, and gain more abilities of spirit, focusing on connections with the world around them. They are tranditionally born with a kindren animal, who stays with them their entire lives and is tasked with protecting and guiding them. They are culturally a peaceful people, with a rich history working among the druid and faefolk; they stay well out of the humans way for fear of retaliation, but actually enjoy entertaining when given the chance.
  
  The Távdi are less easy to identify, as they are born physcially 'normal', and often show no major signs of lycanthropy until late into their adolesence. They are dormant until the night of a full moon, from which they are able to properly take on a fully anthromorphic form. In this state, they are the strongest and most volatile, harboring an insatiable bloodlust that cannot be sated until they return to normal. Their strength comes from the moon-- they remain in their crazed state until the next new moon, their power gradually building up and waning with the lunar cycle. It is often not until the waning cresent where they regain their sentience; however, some select few are able to retain their thought in this form through proper training. These are the most dangerous of the lycans, as they have the strength, power, and the freewill to exorcise it. They have no modern uniform culture, creed, tribes, or traditions often wishing to live among the humans in secret so they will have a constantly supply of food and some semblance of normality.
