• Before The Tragedy

  In her origin world, the world she was created in and protected, the angels' primary objective was to exterminate demons, not protect humans. This instinct knowingly called the "Hunter's Instinct" was built into every angel upon their making to make their goal more easily reachable. The instinct was to kill a demon on sight.
  
  Mira used to be one of, if not the most, dangerous angel to ever prowl the earth. Her very name represents fear in many tales and languages. To see a bluejay bird was an omen of her arrival, and many humans would cross themselves or pray. Some would decorate their doorsteps with flowers in her welcome. That all changed. She went missing for a whole decade. Here's why.
  
  During her 300 years, she's had a small number of human lovers that she adored and had to let go due to their annoying tendency to age and die. With her last lover, she used to joke about how he was probably an angel as well, since he'd hardly aged in the decade they'd known each other. It was moments later that he came out to her as a demon. She was forced by her Instinct to mutilate his body and submerge it in water. She never forgave herself for that, and this was only the beginning for Mira's rebellion against the Guardian, the Master Angel.

• The Awakening

  Mira was given her first important mission. Despite her skill and strength, she was disrespected and never given anything significant to achieve because of her young age. This mission was to shut down a demon's weaponry. This was significantly important because in order for a demon to reach its full potential, it has to make a contract with a weapon made in one of those special factories. But Mira would no longer bend to their will. She was still in shock about what she'd done. So, instead of leading the mission, she hid and flew. She flew down to earth, down to the city she last fell in love, down to the place where they met. Where his remains were buried. And she was only there for a good hour before she was found.
  
  She shot into the air, angel hunters hot on her tail. She felt it first. The tension, the air getting sucked out of her lungs. The suspense as energy drawn from her own two hands powered her enemy's weapons. Still soaring ahead, she heard the energy bow drawback, and zip across. She was blasted from behind, her left wing gone numb. She was falling. And then she hit the pavement. The main muscle in her left wing had been badly mutilated, and she felt warm blood seeping through her feathers.
  
  Now shivering, she shook off her angel appearance and took to her human form- however, this form had also been affected. She now had a lame left leg.

• After The Tragedy

  After falling to the earth, Mira had never been able to fly again without experiencing excruciating pain and reopening her wound. Being on a plane of humans, she'd never gotten it properly healed, so whenever she attempted to take flight... well, it ended in colorful curses and frustration. She spent her days in pubs, bars, and diners, or alternatively, her own quarters, isolated away in study.
  
  Her days were filled by refining human skills such as carding wool, spinning yarn, cooking, farming, building, making candles, writing, reading, bookbinding... and learning various instruments... one gets the idea. But when she wasn't doing that... well, to put it kindly, she was getting wasted. Liquor numbed her Instinct... most of the time. When it didn't, when it backfired, her Instincts would be heightened, and she wouldn't be able to tell apart humans and demons. She would leave villages in blood and sorrow.
  
  The next morning, she would find herself covered in burns, bruises, open wounds, and blood that wasn't heard with only vague, shadowy memories of the events the night before. When she figured it out, she would spend a year locked in isolation, working on combat skills and honing each craft she knew.
