  Pre-service History
  Earthborn: Masato was born to a union of new wealth and old power, the well-meaning coddling of his mother and the imperial attitude of his authoritative father dominated his early years of life. This high-pressure but spoiled nouveau riche existence was only interrupted by a traumatic event that imparted a hard life lesson to the young Ikari. One that would prove most formative as he grew up, ruled by feelings of obligation to family, arrogance and disgust between son and father and a idyllic dream of a grandfathers past glories. All of this caused him to quit his life path of realistic splendor, and chose one of idealistic service in the Alliance
  
  Notes:

  • Had attended Oxford University, Earth prior to transferring to BRNC Dartmouth, enrolling in the System Alliance Officer Cadet Program U.K. Graduated top twenty of Class of 2155.
  • Served aboard two capital ships briefly, before transfer as a platoon leader to the 2nd Frontier Division, Outer Colony Command on the planet Shanxi.

  
  First Contact War Service
  Waged a guerrilla war against the invading Turian and Shanxi collaborator forces for 3 years, until the Mercy Belle Accords ended active warfare between the System Alliance and the Turian Hierarchy.
  Notes:

  • Shanxi is divided in three zones: the Alliance backed Golden Commonwealth (North Shanxi), the Turian backed Alarai Free State (South Shanxi), and a Council administered Demilitarized Zone.
  • While the Alliance and the Hierarchy are at peace, the Commonwealth and Free State never signed the formal surrender document. Technically, a state of war still exists between them.

  
  Post-war Service
  Assisted in the establishment of the Shanxi Commonwealth, before promotion to the Alliance Diplomatic Corps.
