Sailing/Crewmanship
Skills on the seas

Joan has very little experience in actual sailing but certainly has the beginings. Being a woman it was something inaccessible to her until her arrival in considerably less prejudiced worlds beyond the rift. However, she was allowed plenty of opportunities during her travels to act as a crew member. Her skills around this include ship maintenance, spotting, sail management, various knot tying, etc.

In her younger years, Joan had plenty of opportunities to help her father with ledger keeping and with the financal records. Joan transfered this work into her later life as a dock worker and bar tender in order to get a little extra pay where possible.
Bar Tending

Joan has been defaulting to bar tending in different coastal towns across the world. She thoroughly enjoys the work as she appreciates work where she can be by the docks and meet new people. There are times when the work is most enjoyable. She often offered extra services to bar owners to assist in their monthly tax and trade records, given her affinity for mathematics and organization.
Minor Animal Training

She grew up with access to horses, falcons/hawks and dogs. She learned the basics of animal training and understanding how to exploit an animal's desire for food and shelter in order to get the desired outcome.
Swordsmanship
With the Cutlass

Joan only began to learn swordsmanship after passing through the rift, but she had always kept at least a dagger on her before then. She funded lessons with extra work hours and soon learned to defend herself properly as she'd always wanted. She's most proficient with a cutlass or swords of similar weight and shape.
Ballroom Dancing

During the unfortunate period of her life where she was being groomed for marriage, Joan was all but forced to learn this skill. She much prefers dancing without restraint around a bunch of drunkards who couldn't care less, but she can still recall where to place her feet in a ballroom.
Etiquette
A Lady of Distinction...Once Upon a Time

Joan was raised in a noble British household and was taught the key etiquette one would expect a lady to learn, including how to walk with a straight back. She learned to be a lady of distinction, A woman who knew when to be quiet and unseen. Despite the many intricate things she was either taught or grew up with, she was always resistant to the roles set for her, especially after years of feeling a part of her fathers business.

Joan speaks semi-fluent Italian, fluent french and has a basic handle on latin as a whole. Her first language is English/Common but was taught French growing up due to her fathers regular dealings with French ports.

Joan can ride a horse and well, but she never had the opportunity of doing much more than just riding. She has never ridden for show, only for leisure and transport but is currently without a horse of her own.

Joan is good with words. She's not liked by everyone, though. Often a case of 'you either love her, or hate her'. She has a dry sense of humor with intermingled sarcasm, but a charming smile that almost always looks more of a smirk. Her voice is warm like honey with just enough grit that it seems to paint her a colorful character. She can be passionate, stern and insistent or warm and accepting, but either way she articulates it well.
