He is a fatherly and attentive figure who is not want to ignore the plights of those, younger, around him as he is always willing to give advice. A diligent worker he had always been bust, his tribe fishermen by their habitat and pirates by their circumstance. Loyal to a fault there is none you can trust more than Kajthux to get a task done once he swears an oath. Observant his work as a librarian of the Mage's Guild has helped him focus his attentions into reading between the lines individuals present to him. He is a patient beastmen and knows when to act. Due to his time as a slave, and often being locked in a case due to his defiance, he has developed Cleithrophobia and is often fraught with struggles of being indoors, so struggles with wanderlust: he has been known to escape his study admist work at the Guild or fill his home with plants. Suffering autophobia the Argonian is driven to maintain group or familial connections to an obsessive degree, his anxiety often causing him to seem clingy or invasive. During his time as a traveling merchant he has developed toxiphobia after members of the Dres House attempted to poison him and take him back to the plantations so he refuses to eat or drink anything he himself has not prepared, adding this already measurable levels of stress and anxiety. A coward Rex is not given to face danger directly, often sticking to the shadows or acting in underhanded ways to ensure his tasks are done and enemies are dealt with without his hand ever leaving his book. Aggressively minimalistic if not for the need for wearing clothing in public the frugal Argonian would find himself constantly at odds with society as he chooses to live with what he has as opposed to gaining more.



Detect Magic: Over time the Saxhleel has become completely blind in his right eye. To compensate for this he has used his time in the Mage's Guild to concoct a small anchor for a detect magic spell. This spell has been enchanted into a small, black pearl from the marsh and inserted where his right eye socket. He has one amber eye and one pure, black eye, which is in fact the pearl. While the eye can detect magic, it also has the added condition that he can feel it and is pained by any overwhelming sources of magic which inevitably trigger his curse and blind him temporarily.

Fast Swim/Swift Climb: Outswimming an Argonian seems like madness, but outclimbing one seemed easy enough. Coming from a tribe located in the dense marsh of mangroves his smaller frame allows him to quickly scale objects that he has enough grip with. This ability is not easily earned or maintained. He has spent much of his life in the marshes and constantly moving about allows him to uphold their flexibility.

Tracks By Scent/Sound: While Saxhleel have a good sense of smell it is nothing compared to their sense of touch. Wading the dark, dank waters of the marsh being able to feel vibrations in the water or through the air is a needed survival skill. The pouches of air at the base of their jaw allow him to feel movement in the air as well as give him a sense of direction when in dark waters. Being partially blind his skill of feeling of his environment is necessary for him to get through the day.



Main Weapon:
Bow - Carved from the roots of his birth tribe's Hist Tree.

Secondary:
Twin Daggers - Imbued with Hist Sap carved from the bones of a giant skeleton found in the marsh. Hidden on his person.

Magic:
[Primary] Rudimentary Shadow Magic - As such the mage can slip in and out of the shadows in small doses. They can also hide small objects behind shadows, in plain sight.

[Secondary] Alchemical Mastery - Trained in the Alchemical arts this Argonian is capable of manufacturing many types of poison and potions both modern and aligned with the ancient practices of the Black Tongues.

[Constant] Detect Magic - A Black Pearl inserted in his right eye socket is imbued with this minor spell.

There are various treasures and objects Rex carries on his person, Guar, or hangs from his War Mount. Aside from essential provisions, he also has a few arbitrary items that keep him steady when traveling the roads. This is a personal list for roleplay purposes.

Pets; Beasts of Burden; Mounts

Grinning Needle; Emberthroat Durzog. He is a Durzog owned by the Saxhleel. The Durzog was the result encounter on the road. They got along and with Rex mourning the loss of his Imgkin Monkey from its old age they would take in the clever Durzog and train it to fetch, bite, and haul a small pack to keep it busy as they traveled the roads together.[Follows Kaj]

Hookfang; Topal Durzog: A small sized Durzog used for carrying extra packs. The small, semi-aquatic Durzog is a good swimmer and sometimes helps Kaj fish or collect seashells by the sea when they need to eat during travel. They also help collect water weeds and carry lighter camping supplies. [Pack Durzog]

Rumbling-Barrel; Sunset Welwa Mount. Highly aggressive. This war mount was trained for the harsh terrains that it was born into. This mount is male, but highly sociable pack animal and can work with other beasts. His body is kept wrapped in chitin armor making travel light for him when traversing for days at a time as Rex does. [Combat Mount]

Kajthux Rex; the Great Emperor Dragon

It is a mix of Jel and Imperial tongue that translates to the Great Emperor Dragon. Rex's clans were known as fierce raiders, feared by Imperial and Dark Elf slave traders, until a number were captured by their Salamandrus kinsmen and sold as slaves. The name remained, slowly changing as their lines became infested with a magical sickness which cursed any magically inclined Kaj-bloodkin to be partially or fully blinded depending on their hold over magic. It was said that the greater a Gah's blindness was, the stronger their magic became. Their names eventually became Kaj Ei, the descendants of Kajthux Rex: those with Great Eyes.



In 2E 572 Kajthux was freed from a Dres Plantation with a number of other Argonian. They were freed by the act of a single slave by the name of Heita-Meen, who slayed the slavemaster in a duel. Gahrex had been a slave at the Dres Plantation since the age of a young adult and, with another ten years passed since her enslavement at 14, she felt her life fall into an endless cycle. Thanks to Heita-Meen's vision and action, she moved to become free. She did not march along side them in battle though. Instead, the cowardly Kajthux took the nearest boat, which landed her in Stonefalls.

She was raised by a tribe of roving Argogian freebooters, along the Topal Bay, known as the [Redscales], sometimes Dragons of the Marsh, by Imperial Pirates. They were feared raiders born of the influence of Red Bramman in the late 1E. At the time Kajthux had been known by her tribal name: Kajthux-Sei. She was born to the Warlord of the tribe who was known for his deep, red war paint which was drawn over his ash-grey scales. She was born in Thorn and, traditionally, a member of its Hist, but the tribe had moved about so often that they became content with any Hist that would bequeath them with the power to conquer their enemies. Her father, Thix-Meht, felt his daughter deserved a better life than that among raiders, and with the Empire pushing down harder and harder on their practices, Thix-Meht sent Kajthux-Sei to live with the Treeminder back in their traditional home in Thorn at the age of a child. She studied beside her Treeminder for four years and was inducted as an official apprentice.

When the Dunmeri invaded their land, now free from Imperial control, her Treeminder was killed, as were many of the eggs they had been tending to for the season. She had never gotten over the loss of the young ones, feeling her inexperience was a contributing factor. She fought, but it was not enough to fend off the Imperial slavers. The Imperial slavers were remnant of pirates that had since fled from Imperial swamp-prisons. The men put them aboard ships to be taken to Morrowind so they could be sold. The girl was a fighter, a born daughter of Thix-Meht. She often threatened that her father would come and wear their skins for what they had done. She had soon earned the mocking name of "King-of-Dragons" from the slavers, who claimed her to spit nothing but hot air, riling other slaves in the process of her transportation.

When sold her name was misconstrued between the spoken Jel name she provided, refusing to speak the name the Imperials gave her, and the name written on the papers. Kajthux became a mark of her transition from free Saxhleel to Argonian slave. She was taken to the plantation where, for ten years, she struggled beneath the brutal beatings, sometimes handed to her by her own marsh brothers and sisters to avoid their own punishments. She had fought hard. Many times she tried to escape, only to be brought back and beaten again. Eventually her spirit withdrew and she became a silent coward who spoke not and worked. All she had left of her home was her language and she would not allow the Dunmeri to take that, often times beaten simply for speaking her tongue.

After much trial and tribulation the Hist thought best to change Kajthux Rex. Their trials had come to the point where Sithis could reach out to them during their egg-laying and so, to save their own, the Hist reached out to them. The Saxhleel, under the Hist’s guidance, metamorphosed into a male’s body, retaining all of themselves, but their ability to lay eggs. Before the change Kajthux Rex was able to lay one egg. She saw in his vision of near death what this hatchling would be named, to carry on the Kaj line: Hejthux.
