When she was sixteen she was bedridden at a hospital due to her bad health and lack of mobility in her legs. She had died seven years later at the age of twenty-three during childbirth. -

Brief Description: The mysterious man who had fallen in love with his charge. Not much is known about him other than that he came from a poor family who only had enough to get by. When his lover had died Lena had been taken away from him and the had left her child on the doorstep of a church, refusing to give her to Antonio yet not wanting to take care of her themselves. It is said he occasionally visits his daughter every once in awhile, as they had miraculously met during one of her performances, to see how she's doing. -

Brief Description: Maddalena's former guardian, Riccardo is the priest of a church in Palermo, Sicily. He had been raising her since she was mere months old and had reluctantly allowed her to leave the safety of the church when she was 7 to travel with who is now currently her legal guardian and adoptive character - Dante Bianco. Riccardo is a kind and selfless man with a warm smile who always knew what to say and when to say it. Initially he had been the one that ignited Lena's passion for music when he bought her an old violin for her 5th birthday. Despite his reluctance to let Maddalena go off on her own upon getting adopted, he hoped for her a better future and allowed her to leave the church. -
Dante Bianco (Adoptive Father)

Brief Description: The legal father and caretaker of Maddalena. He is the right hand man (Underboss) of the Constanzo Famiglia, one of the more wealthier and successful Italian Mafia Families, and specializes in tactics and occasionally combat if forced - preferring long range with firearms and the like. Despite his intimidating position, he is well known to be very fair and treats everyone exactly how they treat him, a trait which had been passed onto Michaella. Dante was also responsible for launching Lena's career as a professional violinist and acts as her manager.
When around his daughter, he is often very protective and spoils her frequently, giving her his affections as often as he can due to the fact that he is rarely ever in the same place - or same country, as a matter of fact. Despite his obvious love for her though, the two of them are actually very civil and serious around one another as they are still Underboss and Caporegime in ranks. Around others, he is calm and cool on the outside. It may seem like he has everything under control - but even Dante can't keep his cool when he's pushed into a corner and due to this he makes hasty decisions that often need to be stopped by another that can temporarily take his place while he rationalizes his mind. -

Brief Description: Better known as Nico, he is Lena's younger adoptive brother and Dante's son. He's a part of the mafia like the rest of his family, although does not participate in the field like Lena does - Nico is better known as the family's computer prodigy. Having finished university at the young age of 13, he's only five years younger than Lena although has a mind and thought process more advanced than anyone he knows - because of this he often gets dragged around by Mika to help her with homework and the like when she gets the chance to attend a few classes at her college. Due to her constant absence due to missions (and, just because she likes to avoid school as much as she can), he often covers for her and makes sure the school board doesn't kick her out when they get the chance.
In all honesty, despite supporting his sister as much as he can, his personality contradicts it. Simply put, his attitude is completely the polar opposite of Lena's - he's very pessimistic and likes to show off his high intelligence, caring only about the cold hard facts unless there was a reason stated otherwise. But despite his constant denial of caring for his sister, Nico actually enjoys the other's doting attitude - though won't hesitate to punch his father when he tries it as well. -

Brief Description: Emilio, or called affectionately by Lena as 'Emi', has been her childhood friend and ally since she had been officially adopted and introduced into the Constanzo Famiglia. When they were children they were practically attached to hip, as he had been the one to help her adjust to the daily life and house rules. They had been so close that at some point Emilio actually requested for them both to be home-schooled and tutored at the same times. Eventually as they grew up he announced himself the maintainer of her weapons, only and exclusively for her. He specialized in programming and weapon designing for the family, and was quite popular with women due to his looks.
He's often been described to act in some way like Lena - probably due to the fact that the two of them had grown up together a majority of their lives. Emilio is described to be polite and charming in front of people he'd like to impress, but with people he's familiar with he's known to sass them out on occasion and tends to be rather snarky. He likes to be depended upon, knowing that his skills are of use to people, but usually only ever goes above and beyond for Maddie - hinting at some sort of sister like complex towards her.
