    Heir of a prestigious bloodline from City of Tears, the Lightbringer family, an old clan of fireflies with a history of aggressive loyalty to the Pale
    King and extinct other than for himself at this point in time. Raised originally to be a shadow servant, Lucian harshly disagrees with this idea and wishes to become a knight and serve the king, light and chivalry. He is infamous within his homeland as a drifter and a trouble-magnet, wandering through and around and often causing more trouble than he solves.
    After his family's state burned up, he reached out to a disgraced city guard beetle named Nana, who had tried to rescue his brother only to fail and lose use of her wings. He hired the sentry as a bodyguard when the City Guard proved reluctant to keep her in employ and the two can often be seen adventuring together.

    An aristocratic family comprised of firefly beetlefolk, who have traditionally been knights, paladins and servants for kings since their conception. Originally serfs to a mothkin tribe and used for rituals and prayer due to their light, they turned on their former masters to join civilization which earned them their noble rank, at least noble among mortal bugfolk.

    Lucian is the only known live member at this point in time, as was his father at one point.

    The Progenitor: Indeterminate age and gender, but possibly female. Ancestor of the firefly clan, the one to turn against the moths. Long time deceased.

    Lior: 60+ years old, male. Father of Lucian and Uriel, and renowned knight. Had a romantic adventure with one of the other members of his king's court (which resulted in his offspring) but it did not turn out well for him. Deceased.
