  Hailing from a small village, Maverick was the upbeat teen when he was drafted into King's army at fifteen. Through diligent training, although his attitude was unrefined to the more sophisticated air a model knight ought to have, Maverick was recognized by his superiors to have flourishing talents. Most knights came from respected upper-class families, with warriors and soldiers often coming from families with not a single noteworthy name in their family trees. Gallant with a sword, quick on his feet, and possessing robust magical prowess, Maverick was chosen to become one of the King's Knights, a title only worthy to the kingdom's most noble, fierce, and strongest of fighters. A knight of the King, Maverick's personality did not reflect such an honorable title. Young, Maverick had never cared for the posh and regal attitude that was notable among aristocrats. For Maverick, he ignored the pressed requests of his superiors to tone down his brash personality. The red head had a flare for fun and living his life with every day being memorable. Outgoing, although he appeared immature and self-righteous, Maverick is a determined and charismatic soul with an infectious personality. Naturally, Maverick's easy-going charm made women swoon for him. Life was short and he was young, so as the womanizer he was, Maverick had no problems finding a woman to bed him for the night. He had power, money, and glory going for him until one night, he met a succubus that placed a curse on him to take it all away.

  Straying from one woman to the next, commitment was not a word Maverick familiarized himself with. A ladykiller, Maverick as the vigorous straight man he was used his name and background to chat up a number of fine woman, enriching himself with their luxuries, before promptly leaving them heartbroken. For Maverick, this was a great hobby, but to the women he scorned, he unwittingly betrayed a witch and earned her wrath. Vengeful, the witch summoned a succubus to go after Maverick - women were his greatest weakness and he'd gladly welcome an eager woman into his bed. Unfortunately for Maverick, just when he though he was getting lucky, the succubus placed a cursed on Maverick after having "weakened" him. When Maverick awoke, the succubus was gone but Maverick didn't find that strange. In fact, he found nothing extraordinary as the days went by. Maverick was unaware that a curse was placed on him, but those around him certainly noticed a change. Since when was Sir Maverick Ce'Darius gay?
  
  The day after Maverick's encounter with the succubus went forgotten, Maverick no longer chatted up women when he visited the town square or taverns. He no longer was using women to satisfy his lust. In fact, women no longer drove his lust. Men did. To Maverick, he didn't recognize this sudden change, only that every time he saw a man that struck his fancy, he couldn't resist the urge to flirt or grope them. When Maverick was straight, he'd often do this to women, who typically returned his attention with fever. For men, Maverick's boyish charm and looks could not swoon the straightest of men, and yet under the curse, Maverick seemingly didn't care or notice. Before, Maverick struck fear into men from his sheer power and skill as a knight and magician, but now a great number of men fear for their virtue when in the presence of the now-strange Maverick - it was as if he was a whole other person.
