  THE MAN Obediah is a practising doctor. He has been in the field for over twenty years and as such, has quite an experienced hand in the art of medicine. His specialities tend to fall over creatures and individuals with magical roots; celestials, infernals and mythicals. He can, however, just as easily treat completely mortal or human patients, although these tend not to take his interest as much. After studying on the mainland for the majority of his career, Obediah made the move to Guilderem to pursue more interesting cases and clients and to study the tropical diseases and other such ailments supported by the island's microclimate. Obediah's particular interests are in anatomy and osteology, but is also well-versed in pathology. He has not, however, delved into the art of surgery beyond basic stitching and splinting, preferring instead to maintain his expertise in diagnosis and therapy.   THE BEAST By birth, Obediah is a pegasus; a beast from Greek Mythology. He spent his childhood and early life living in a herd of his own kind in Macedonia, bordering Mount Olympus. Pegasus, as highly intelligent and ambitious creatures, differ from their non-winged cousins, the horses, in their ability to leave social groups to pursue their own and individual destinies and interests. As such, at the age of twenty, Obediah took on a human form to mingle with humans and to study the art of medicine and the biological sciences. Although Obediah's disguise as a human is, as a whole, convincing, he retains such features as a large pair of black, feathered wings, and rather more pointed-than-usual ears. He is unable to stomach meat and is such completely a vegetarian. Obediah will spend time in his true form when he is relaxing or feeling stressed, but has become used to human comforts such as warm beds and cooked foods. He finds humans far more interesting than his own kind, and is more than happy to spend the majority of his time as one.
