History:
In the early 1700s, Spanish conquistadors and Europeans traveled to many islands in search of new land. And so, they arrived to this lone and uninhabited peninsula which was under the quiet and loving supervision of the goddess, Mirna. She appeared before the humans as a beast worthy of legend after they explored just a couple miles of the peninsula with pleased and surprised looks of what they had found. She came at the quiet desires of freedom and so did she speak with the explorers to gain the slaves and servants with kindness. When it failed, so she did she take them by force. Small causalities were had but only to let the effect linger as the explorers sailed off. She had saved shiploads of people and transformed before them, relating to them in human form and guiding them into a new wave of existence.
People:
The people were first taken in by the shape-shifting goddess, Mirna, who were slaves to the explorers. They were former defeated spirits taken from their homes, sold into slavery or were turned to indentured servitude, and then forced to work for little food and water. They ranged from a small handful of countries, Africa and Europe being the main import and exports of slaves and servants alike, no matter a man, woman, or child. Generations later and they are now a thriving community. Adapting to the environment, what with plants and animals being larger than from the others from their homeland, and so have the average height and weight increased. Lastly and more importantly, they have gained magical prowess thanks to ingesting fresh larva and mineral rocks and gems that were cultivated in a underground cave by Mirna herself. She wanted for them to thrive on the peninsula and understand the whole concept of natural selection. They've now built their own home on the side of a mountain and now use magic as second nature.
Floras:
Everything is larger than life. The grass, the flowers, the trees. Exploring the outskirts can be dangerous as a good handful of plants are carnivorous if one doesn't know which paths or areas to avoid. The plants are mostly used for medicinal and recreational uses - there are but a rare few used for traditional dances during the full moon, marriage ceremonies, in foods, and as offerings.
Animals:
here, there, everywhere.
