Melemmohr

The first of the Ten to fully manifest its consciousness, known as the Hē Archē, Wellspring, and the Primeval Arche of Light, Positive Energy and Compassion - being, in fact, considered the Proarchē, the highest of the gods of creation. In the beginning, it was seemingly the most distant and mysterious of the Ten and rarely had direct interaction with the lower realms. Melemmohr and Vadraaghain were more similar than one may think in the Beginning, as both acted inscrutable and emotionless. For Melemmohr, however, it did have feelings it could very clearly experience, but a lack of understanding until the other Arches taught it what everything meant.

Melemmohr represents the primal force of 'pure, bright Existence' waiting to funnel through the rest of its ilk, to express through them into lower reality. Most powerful of the Ten, and the former 'ruler' of all existence, though it has always been modest enough to not wear this on its sleeve (though apparently NOT enough to eschew the gold plate up there). Melemmohr, even when it didn't truly know what it was feeling, has a great love of all life and all things, and acts always in the safeguarding of life and freedom everywhere.

Essentially the 'mother' of the Ten, though they're all more like siblings. Can go by 'she' as well. Its self-actualization created the cosmic background fabric that would allow the beginning of existence with the awakening of the rest of the Ten. Along with Vadraaghain, is the only survivor of the First Ones, though has been partially splintered across existence. It has no official color affiliation aside from pure white, but it enjoys adding golds to its garbs when it would be able to appear in the lower realms. Its powers tend to either manifest as white-yellow, white-blue or full spectrum prismatic energy. Its primary element being Light for obvious reasons, it tends to favor Fire and Lightning as well.

The most ethereal and formless of the Ten, Melemmohr in the past could only interact with its full strength with the 'lower' planes when inhabiting a body that knowingly accepts its entry, and only a very scant and powerful few can house Melemmohr for extended periods without burning out (literally) from the sheer strain. The physical, mental and spiritual fortitude required are beyond enormous. Following the success of the development of Vadraaghain's 'permanent' avatar, however, the Ten would be able to better stabilize their own forms to remain manifested for longer through sharing energies to materialize, and Melemmohr was able to make its own similar avatar body to Vadraaghain's (minus the base-space layer) with their assistance.

Alternatively, it could speak through other members of the Ten when they manifested, but only this as most except the very last could only remain materially expressed for so long themselves. The result being, exacerbated by its initially aloof outward nature, that Melemmohr tended to be the rarest of the Ten one could ever meet in person, though with time and understanding through its compatriots it would come out of its shell more and more, gradually revealing its true nature.

Its true avatar manifestation is a four-armed, six winged, vaguely skeletal being of abstract shapes of light and floating crystal masses, in a configuration that appears vaguely humanoid from the waist-up. At its waist is a blindingly bright 'core' sphere of light, and to each side of the 'core' are three orbs. On the left, red, purple and green foci of Flame, Lightning and Wind, and on the right blue, cyan and yellow to represent Water, Ice and Earth. Directly below the core is a smaller dark blue, starry sphere to represent the Dark of cosmic night, as opposed to the original Dark of the Void. Two arching half-circle masses of hard light float behind the entity, the interior one having a starry orb at its topmost point glowing blue between the stars, and a starry sphere shining a brighter blue tipping the higher.

The rise and fall of the Grand Republic of Caelatoris, and its later form as similarly named Imperium tore the grand cosmos apart. War ravaged every iota of creation. Blood was upon every land, and those once bound by that selfsame blood found themselves at each other’s swords and firearms. The First Emperor Pesménos’s pet project, the superweapon Maker’s Ruin, had captured the Void itself and saw the Imperium poised to strike down the very heavens themselves. As several of Melemmohr’s siblings rode to quell the conflict, the tenth Rursum himself took to dismantling the Emperor’s mad ambitions and freeing the bound Vadraaghain, but victory over the empire of chaos came at an unacceptable cost. Alas, Melemmohr’s most direct counterpart would turn upon everything and all things, and the War Beyond the Stars would commence.

Alas, the War was unkind. When Vadraaghain cut long and deep into the cosmos-supporting Tree of Transcendence, weakened as it already was by the corruption and loss of the great lord of Death, Melemmohr found itself leading its kin into battle against their former friend and ally. The battle was far, far beyond fierce, nearly every single universe in existence, every world that ever looked upon empyrean heights and chthonian depths rendered unto nothingness, a result of the great forces clashing beyond the heavens and the inexorable death of the Tree.

As the Ten fell, one by one, they were broken to pieces and scattered across what little remained of existence itself, though their efforts allowed the Wellspring, their last standing compatriot, to deliver a decisive strike against the Void. Unfortunately, Vadraaghain’s defeat came to little and too late as the final collapse was imminent, and though it was able to gather enough of its family’s pieces back together to rouse their consciousnesses once more, the fallen Nine bade their First to bring their essences into one, in a final sacrifice of their very selves to ensure creation would continue in some form. Weeping for its beloved companions, Melemmohr took their living souls and brought them together, annihilating their consciousnesses completely and effectively killing them forever, to kickstart a new Beginning from the remnants of the old Creation.

Only a handful of worlds would survive the transition of recreation, the very essences of the lost Nine as well as the splinters of Melemmohr’s being lost from its wounds in the battle intermixing and reseeding the primal aethers that still just barely lingered.

Melemmohr has changed subtly in the intervening eons. Even more a staunch believer in and advocate for mortal agency and the progress of civilization than, it holds deep regrets for its failures both as an overseer of Existence, to its fellows in the Ten who now lie dead forever, and to what it once considered a brother, Vadraaghain. Melemmohr feels deeply the pain of every soul lost, and every life that continues to be snuffed out by the Riaqu and by extension its mistakes to this day.

The Wellspring’s old body was lost as fuel for the great recreation, though as a result of taking fragments of the other Nine into its own being concurrent with their sacrifice, Melemmohr’s connection with the lower realms of the newly-reformed ‘omniverse’ allow it to far more easily manifest itself at will, though a tradeoff is, despite still possessing incredible power befitting such a high-scale cosmic being, the First’s might is much reduced in light of its persistent, never-mending ‘wounds’ left by its battle with Vadraaghain so long ago.

And now, countless billions of long eons later, plagued by those memories that never fade, the Refulgent Origin is faced with an excruciatingly slow-building collapse across the scope of existence itself...
