Good at taking things apart, not always good at putting them back together again but he likes to tinker with his hands and overall just keep himself busy that way. It is really the only thing he thinks he is good at, and the only redeeming quality he can offer.

Former Blackout Guard. Has been involved in some shady things in his life due to beliefs he thought were right and were taught to him from a young age. Once he realized that things weren't better this way, he knew he couldn't continue but he didn't know how to get out of it. Once opportunity arose, he chose his side and has been living on his own on the run from his past lest it come calling . He tends to isolate himself and doesn't like to talk about his past.

Tends to be pretty wary of alien species because he grew up believing they can't be trusted. He has been working to better himself and change this way of thinking, but it has followed him since childhood to feel this way.

He tends to prefer isolation and doesn't ever give out more than his not quite first name. He has some fake documentation with a full name should he ever need it. He never gives out his true name because he doesn't want anyone potentially tracking him to find him. Conversation with him tends to be pretty direct if only because he's not entirely used to talking to people on a regular basis. Getting him to open up takes a bit of effort, and even then there is a strong threshold before he needs his space again.

Ray has a nasty defense mechanism that involves lashing out verbally if he thinks someone is getting too close. Unintentionally, he will target something he notices about a person in order to push them away from getting too close. He strongly believes no one should be around him, that he should never let anyone get too close because he doesn't deserve the company, and pushing them away is the only safe option if he can't keep them at arms length.

Although not fond of directly involving himself in everything, Ray does have a softer spot for preventing others from suffering. He has unfortunately seen more than his share in a short time, and it acts as a trigger for him to ensure he doesn't stand by passively ever again if given the right motivation. While it may not be conversational, Ray has no qualms stepping into the right situation even if it means he could potentially get hurt. A lot of it is a guilt-based call to action. All he needs is clear evidence to support a decision, which may appear to be hesitation or indifference on his part to a call for help. He was fooled once in the past and he is wary about doing it again.

Will have anything from materials to antiques to planet-specific things - sometimes it’s just junk but he picks shit up anyway because something could be valuable to someone else. - Essentially your go-to guy when it comes to finding anything. Want an old school, early 2000's Earth iPod? He can either find you one or knows someone who can find you one. Appearance: There are multiple boxes and shelves with various organized methods of keeping track of things. Some things are kept in boxes with handwritten notes about the general kind of items within. Others are on display on shelves. More expensive items are kept in the back room, and some are kept in display cases where transactions are completed. The bottom floor is the shop and a backroom with all of the essentials. There are a set of stairs that lead to the upstairs area where Ray appears to live. The upstairs is somewhat sparse aside from the essentials for living and clothing. It seems somewhat lived in. Ray never sleeps here. He may come up for a shower or a break. He sleeps where he feels safe-- which is in his ship. The building itself is pretty much par for the course for the area. It is constructed well enough to stay standing, but there's an undeniable hint of just-barely if you look too closely at the architecture. He had to get his hands on the cheapest option he could and it does what he needs it to do. He's done some work since getting it to try and fix some of the issues, so there's some evidence of this as well. The upstairs is fairly generic and seen by no one. There are sparse signs of personality, but for the most part it is bare minimum at best. It provides the essentials - a bedroom, a bathroom, a living room, and a kitchen. It matches the general just-barely of the rest of the building, and Ray has done a little more work here to ensure he can at least access food and as decent a shower as he can get if he needs one in a pinch. Staff: [Name] - A rather quiet, but intense person. They are good at keeping business concise and have a clear knowledge of a lot of the place. Ray tends to let them run operations as the manager while he is off doing what he does best. He trusts them enough with it and has a bit of good history in their relationship. They were a thief/scrounging a life and Ray caught them, made a deal with them of some kind that ultimately directed them toward a business arrangement that suited them both - they get to survive and have a salary and Ray gets to go off and scrap and doesn't have to be around as many people. Additional possible maybe starts as a general NPC char and can be a role someone fills a slot for)) [Name] - A worker ((maybe could have also the same as a seeking role too - could have a couple open)). Best fitting would be someone looking to help, have a steady life, etc. Even better is someone who Ray takes a subtle shine to - aka someone with a bit of a rough story that just needs a Chance.

[Name of Ship Here] A vessel clearly intended for no more than a few passengers. It is relatively small, but comfortable enough for up to three people. Most of the passenger space is used as storage. The main sleeping quarter is the only one lived in. It is a fairly non-descript ship with very few flashy colors. Most of the exterior has seen better days and bears many scuffs, dings, and other signs of general wear and tear. Some of the minor damage even bears hints of DIY repair. The interior is more or less the same when it comes to a generally bland, static color scheme. The cockpit has room for two to sit at the helm and a third seat behind the passenger against the back wall near the door to lead further into the ship. The 'living' quarters are all on the same floor, and the lower deck houses mostly the mechanical aspects as well as the spaces used as storage while traveling.
