  • Description

    Rohst is a 6'1" tall, imposing, but well-composed Brass Dragonborn with emerald eyes. His combat attire is heavy plate armor helmed by the shrunken skull of a green dragon with a leather eyepatch draped over the left eye socket. He typically wields Shadowbane, a bright violet sunsword, in his right hand and a dark energy saber called Darkstar which seems to absorb light that strikes it in his left hand. An amulet around his neck prominently displays the holy symbol of Helm enchanted with a cold, permanent violet flame. He is quite strong, but not very quick (both physically and mentally).

  • Inspirations

    Every character I make starts as an inspiration from something else first. Whether that's a character I saw in TV, read in a book, played in a game, or part of a song, there's always a seed to start with and grow it into something unique (hopefully).

    Comic book characters are a favorite pass time for me to recreate into a PC somehow and that's how Rohst started. His seed was Captain America as my very first 5e D&D character. I wanted to make a cleric that could wear heavy armor, wield two handed greatswords, inspire fellow adventures in battle, and toss around fireballs, too (Light Cleric, woo!). The reality of the games I played made that seed wither and die, so he became a paladin/bard later after a re-work but kept the essence of what I tried to play.

    The backstory inspiration was "he hates undead and fights to eradicate them" bloomed into the complexity it became over time. My crush at the time loved Curse of Strahd, so that was a heavy influence along with Anastasia's Once Upon a December song. The warlock side is straight out of Lovecraft's Cthulu lore coupled with a one-shot storyline that involved a "crashed spaceship like in Aliens".
