History

• Biography

  The son of a simple woodcutter and his wife, Simon Forester grew up at the watermill
  in the woods, just a stone's throw away from the village. Here they processed the logs
  into planks for the builders to use. Life was peaceful. Quiet. Yet so boring for the youngest
  of the Foresters. Until one day the bandits came...
  
  It was a night of the full moon. People say it is nights like these magic is in the air. Strong;
  potent. However, that very night came a group of brigands who very much did not care
  about this little tidbit. Such villains only care about little more than money, ale and women.
  
  The door to the modest house flew open with a loud crack, splinters flying everywhere and the
  group of four loud, foul-smelling men stormed inside as fast as they could. Yelling and threateningly
  brandishing their clubs and short swords, they demanded what they came for. All the coin they had,
  all the drink they had and worst of all - his mother. Young Simon was absolutely terrified, yet a part
  within him, something primal, something powerful, was furious. Furious at the situation, furious
  about fate and above all furious at the dirty men who trespassed onto their property.
  
  He blacked out.
  
  It was already morn when he came to. The first thing he saw was the mill burned down to a crisp
  and his parents nowhere to be seen. Nor the four pillagers, for that matter. He was alone among
  ruin, confused and scared. As any child would do, he started bawling at the sight. Until a man,
  about in his mid-forties came. A man he recognised as from the village.
  
  "Magic," he explained. "T'was powerful magic that did this. I know because I followed its trail.
  It was wild; untamed, child. Your parents must have gotten scared and run off. I've seen it happen
  countless times before." He offered his hand and Simon took it. "Magic is, contrary to popular
  believe, not hereditary. Its touch can rest on anyone. From noble to peasant. People are rarely
  prepared for it. Come with me," he offered, "Come with me and I shall teach you to harness
  your arcane abilities and teach you the intricacies of magic." And so he came.
  
  He was 8-years-old at the time.

  Seven Years Later
  
  Now in his mid-teens, Simon Forester has improved in leap and bounds with his control in magic. Although still considered an apprentice, he can now, to some extend, harness the four base elements, conjure simple illusions and summon small animals as temporary familiars. Furthermore he has dabbled in alchemy and the basics of potion brewing. When he is not studying ancient tomes, he's outside causing mischief and amusing his peers and village folk with simple magic tricks, to the chagrin of his master, Aramos.
