    Green eyes peek up at you through thick lenses set in wireframe glasses and short but messy light-brown hair. A smile spreads across a freckled face, presuming you're the type to smile back. Wears a loose-ish t-shirt layered over a darker long-sleeved shirt. Probably female, given the hips, but certainly not curvy. Got on a short skirt over top of black knee-length yoga pants, socks pulled up to just below the knee, and well-worn tennis shoes. Looks to be in early- to mid-twenties.

    Ted's always been a tomboy, so much so that one might think her parents had wanted a boy instead. But no, her home life was pretty ordinary. It's just that her Uncle Joe had called her "Ted" as a joke one Christmas, and it just sort of stuck. Better than Dora, anyway ("I ain't no explora!"). And she stopped liking "Teddy" by middle school, because, in her words, "I'm not a toy bear!" Plus, she just finds humor in the name Ted Ann.

    So there's Ted, a kid who grew up in glorious suburbia, eventually running a small martial arts studio with a couple of her college friends. Mostly normal. Until one day...

    Tedd was just walking down the sidewalk, heading home from the school after teaching class. She'd been hefting her gym bag, which is somehow always heavier after a workout, and wondering if she should move further away from work so she could justify driving the distance. But then she spies it, poking out of a dumpster. What...what is that thing? Looks like some sort of handheld gadget. She picks it up and turns it over a few times, trying to figure out what it is. Then she presses a button. Nothing. So she presses another one. There's a sound, and a voice speaking a language she doesn't recognize. So she presses another one. WHOOSH! And she's gone!
