Family Background: After the death of his mother, just after Thistle enrolled at Ilvermorny, his father began a new family and had less and less time for Thistle. Though unintentional, Thistle's separation from his family for all but two months of the year left a vast gulf that was unavoidable. Due to the No-Maj status of his father, step-mother and half-siblings, only his Father knows the truth about Thistle's schooling. The rest of them believe him to be in some sort of military school. His father loves him, pretends to frustration with "Disobedience" to keep up the front, but over the years it's become overwhelming. Thistle no longer returns home.
