A New Beginning

To many the role of and entertainer means merely to 'Entertain" though within the familiar walls of the eastern clan home of his people, the term means something much, much more.
Chosen at birth due to a deep connection with their muse and a natural affinity to the elements of the world around them, their training begins as soon as the young ones are capable of speech and retaining the information told to them by their mentors. They are well educated, talented, and driven individuals who are tasked with traveling the lands of the known, and unknown, to share their capabilities and raise the bar of knowing what is real and possible within the minds of those who encounter them.
Able to adapt to the customs, culture, traditions, and beliefs of their 'host' country they try and honor those values while bringing a taste of their own culture and ideals to other through their performances. From dancing, to elemental manipulation, slight of hand, illusions, spoken poetry, visual and verbal storytelling to interpretive dancing, their stage and street shows are often the talk of many and not one to miss. But not all of their purpose lies in these traditional spectacles, as they also play the parts of courtesans and companions, Shaman when various problems beyond the capabilities of the local population show themselves and demand such services. Even putting together festivals, and of course passing their knowledge upon those interested and wishing to follow the path of their own footsteps.
Such a life was enchanting to him, and it was to the surprise of none that the peacock earned such popularity within the lands he visited given the mark he often left behind within the minds and hearts of the people he's come to meet over the years. It was dangerous at times, hard at orders, but rewarding when he witnessed the spark of awe and inspiration that reflected upon the faces of those who observed him. He also had his own caravan wagon to call home and for him that was all he'd ever need, though fate it seemed had different plans for him and when he took the contract of putting the restless elemental spirits of the northern wastes to rest. He had little idea that such a simple, normal, mundane act would result in the most unexpected of outcomes and a chain of events he had no control over.
It all started with a captain that he had never before used to travel, a series of storms that tossed and assaulted their ship for days, and ending up marooned on an island he couldn't find on any native map of his. Rather an island he found on maps of an entire world of continents, lands, and regions he never even knew existed - and filled with a variety of cultures and creatures he had never even dreamed of before.
His understanding of the world was about to get a whole lot bigger, provided he survived the trials ahead that is for when your tossed into a world where anything is possible, the lack of magical skill and capability sure does put one at a disadvantage.

- Building Character connections and work towards making Vael a little less of a stranger to the island.
- Those interested in working with him, or using him to their advantage in terms of business.
- People interested in coming to him for his services.
- Plot lines, story lines. Anything I can really sink my teeth into and use to develop my character and yours!
- Both Vael's appearance and mannerisms reflect a blend of male and female characteristics. Making the act of assuming his gender at first glance nearly impossible, and even upon closer inspection it can be difficult for some individuals. Biologically he is male, and this is easily determined once he's completely nude or if your character knows about peacocks as a species. Your characters are free to assume things, in fact he often takes being treated as a man or woman a compliment.
- He's not a mage, and has no magical capabilities what so ever. His elemental manipulation is a by product of his connection to the elements, and the elemental spirits that govern them. Unless it's already present within his immediate vicinity he can't do much.
- Though I live at my computer a majority of the time, life does occasionally drop lemons into my lap that I need to handle. I -always- inform people of when this happens, and aside from net-death expect me to inform you of whats going on if I need to drop out of an RP.
