Vivian

'Prim' and 'proper' were definitely apt terms to describe this apparent young man, dressed in almost overly formal attire no matter where he went. Everything he wore seemed custom-tailored and fresh out of the shop, though the antiquity of the buttons on his sleeves would give plausible deniability to that claim. He held himself to quite a high standard, though perfection was impossible. Even Vivian had moments where his air of professionalism slipped and he found himself chattering excitedly about one of his interests. Though, more often than not, he would excuse himself and re-center, gaining back his stoicism.

Another word that was quite adequate to him was 'crisp'. Nothing about him was cold, per se, (except maybe the temperature of his body being just a bit lower than usual), though he had a direct way of talking that left little confusion. When he wanted information he got it, one way or another, and he had the patience of a saint.

Vivian has spent most of his vampirehood searching for a rumored cure, though so many dead ends and false leads have left him feeling rather hopeless. While not as actively interested in pursuing knowledge as he may have been a century ago, his passive interest keeps him talking to those around him that are more supernaturally inclined.

Being a White Court vampire, Vivian feeds on emotion. Rather than settle on one like most of his family, he chooses to partake of a small variety, and does so in such a way that leaves him generally sated and not too hungry most of the time. He enjoys large crowds and gatherings, though is more likely to drink the atmosphere from a darkened corner, or a seat off to the side by himself. Those that interact with him in these situations may recall him being a delight, and express an interest in seeing him again. This is because his feeding is addictive - but in general situations, he tries his hardest to take as little as possible from as many people as he can to prevent this from becoming an issue.

Once in a blue moon, his hunger may be enough to prey upon a single individual, but even in these situations he prefers to leave as small a mark on them (metaphorically speaking) as possible. He has zero control over this, however. He does prefer to indulge in the emotion of lust in these instances, as it generally is the easiest to come by. He has been known to feed on excitement, though this is generally more a feeding of opportunity than preference.

His way of 'ambient' feeding does leave him a little low in reserves for supernatural strength, so he has taken up the hobby of close combat with knives to protect himself if necessary.

- While he is perfectly capable of making conversation, his interpersonal people skills... could use some work. Making anything close to what he could consider a 'friend' is a daunting task. And he prefers the term 'associate' or 'acquaintance'.
- Despite preferring to feed on lust, Vivian is incredibly dense when it comes to people flirting with him. He would swear up and down it's never happened before, and would insist that he would definitely know if it did. (It has. He would not.)
- His 'select' emotion to feed on when he has the choice is excitement. Therefore, humiliation tends to be the emotion that will cause him harm. (Very, very secretly, he worries that love would harm him too, though has convinced himself he'd never experience it to know. (It won't.))
- He wears a simple gold band on the ring finger of his right hand. It belonged to his father.
- When he is tense, he will rub the nail of his middle finger on his right hand with his thumb, or fiddle with his ring.
- He does not need to eat normal food, but will if necessary as to not seem rude. Every once in a while he may indulge his sweet tooth.
- He enjoys brandy and will generally drink alcohol if it is around in an effort to blend in. He cannot hold his liquor well, however.
- Not having been able to express himself quite fully around his father, he has come to terms and accepted the fact he prefers the intimate company of gentleman - though typically he is not picky when it comes to his ambient feeding. However, he is cordial to everyone.
- Items typically carried on his person are: a small leatherbound book for taking notes, an inkpen, a case for his glasses, book mending supplies, and some hard candies.
- Known languages include Romanian, French, and English/common. He is fluent in all three, and can read Latin but is rubbish at speaking it.
- He rents a penthouse suite indefinitely on a small, touristy island accessible by boat. It has three bedrooms and a very lavish bathroom, as well as a kitchen and living room area. A balcony looks out over the ocean. Two rooms are dedicated to his hobbies, sewing and book restoration. Despite his exceptional organizational skills, both rooms tend to be a little cramped.
- His ears are just the slightest bit pointed, as well as his canines despite not feeding on blood. He explains these away as birth defects to those that seem intolerant of vampires.

Vivian was born in Romania coming up on 3 centuries ago. His mother, an entitled and very horrible woman, had wanted a daughter, and had given him a name to reflect her dissatisfaction. When she tried to raise him as a little girl his father intervened, divorcing the woman and removing himself and his son from the household, and moved to France. He raised him by himself, quite well off, into a fine young gentleman.

At the age of 19, however, his mother found them again. She spoke of a curse that she'd brought upon the family, telling Vivian that one day he would hear a calling impossible to ignore. It wasn't 4 years later that he did indeed hear that call - a strange desire nothing could slake, he partook of a gentleman one evening, and turned.

This was so long ago now that the details to him are fuzzy, but he eventually managed to get the full story out of his father. The man had taken him far away to try and leave the curse of the House of Ioveanu behind them, but it inevitably caught up with them. He explained what it meant to be the type of vampire he was, telling him everything he could without the aid of his mother, who was the actual vampire. He explained loving his mother very dearly(which, he admitted, was more than likely his addiction to her), but her inclinations drove him to near insanity. Trying to raise Vivian as a little girl had been the last straw, and he assumed taking him as far away as possible from the source of his vampirism would somehow make it go away.

He saw no benefit in staying in France, and has since left his father. Now a 'perpetual' 23 years of age, he searches endlessly for a way to rid himself of the curse. Though he has grown accustomed to it over the centuries, he would love nothing more than to exist among the living without some sort of deep ulterior motive.
