• Biography

  Maureen Mabbett was born in Kenora, Canada, to a lower-middle class family, along with her twin brother. Her father, Henry Mabbett, worked as a housekeeper, while her mother, Dora Mabbett, was employed as a receptionist. From a young age she had developed a caring and will-disposed attitude for nearly all people. This has resulted from many instances where her extended family has dealt with trauma, and recovered- though not all did. These multiple instances have fueled her interest in psychology and therapy, giving her a life-long dream job, she continuously worked to achieve. At 19 the Mabbett family had still retained their lower-middle class status. Maureen had finished had completed high school at that time, and had to work as a janitor for 3 years, never spending a dollar before being able to attend university. Heading out to Lakehead University she held high marks, but had to re-take one of her exams.
  
  Afterwards Maureen found multiple means of employment- working through contracts in multiple communities, both remote and urban. Following her travels she had found a love for driving, and soon began to compete in races as a gentleman driver. She never made any money off of this, and would only give the winnings back to whatever organisation she was driving for. Using the money from her job as a therapist she now owns her own property, deciding not to spend more money moving to another city.
  
  Currently, Maureen is still working, with a long-term goal of retirement.
