  • 1. A Fresh Start.

    As my previous notebook, as well as the poor fellow I hired to help me, was lost on my last quest for new recipes, I'm forced to start another. I may not have gotten what I was after, but at least I still have Brie and my lucky apron. Knowing what awaits me now, I'll have to brave the custard again once I've gotten more recipes, not to mention more helpers. Brie, fortunately, knew about another place I could snag a recipe or three. Unfortunately, I have to take a boat to get to where it is.
    
    I hate boats. Well, that's not true, I don't mind the design or smell or anything, but the seasickness! Oh, it's horrible. One man told me milk would help, that I wouldn't puke it up. He was right. It came out as cottage cheese instead. Sour cottage cheese. Ugh, I'm making myself ill and I haven't even set foot on the boat yet! I wonder if there's a Culinomancy recipe that will give me wings? Not like, buffalo wings, but ones I could use to fly. That'd be neat. Never need a boat again, I could just soar over the ocean. Not likely, but a girl can dream... and at least I have my Butter Boots to make getting around on foot easier.
    
    Anyway, plans. First I survive heaving my guts out on the trip, take a day or night for recovery, head to the local tavern to recruit some help since everybody knows that's where mercenaries looking for work congregate, storm the ruins where the kitchen Brie told me about is, and get myself some new recipes! Easy as pie. I'll just have to be sure to hire a couple more people than I think I'll need, so I have some spares in case another decides he'd rather drown in custard than aid a budding Master Chef.
