Benoit Duleau

Background

The youngest of four children, Benoît (né Émile Dubois) was born shortly after his father's death. His grieving mother was unable to care for him properly, and despite her efforts, he fell ill at two months of age. He spent four days under the watchful eye of a doctor, his condition deteriorating rapidly. On the fifth day, he was clinically dead. An augur intervened and Benoît was revived, and soon underwent a quick and miraculous recovery.

His mother, however, did not. She became convinced that he was no longer the same person she had given birth to, despite his unchanged appearance. She refused to nurse him and hired a maid to look after him.

The only times she could tolerate him was when she put him in his sisters' outgrown dresses. Only then would she dote on him, calling him Émilie and encouraging him to play with dolls.


About
Unlike most people, Benoît lacks a Spirit Guide, the incorporeal being that accompanies a person throughout their lifetime, providing guidance and wisdom. His connection to the metaphysical is all but nonexistent.
