The Oath


  • "The Oath of Vengeance is a solemn commitment to punish those who have committed a grievous sin. When evil forces slaughter helpless villagers, when a thieves' guild grows too violent, when a dragon rampages through the countryside– at times like these, paladins arise and swear an Oath of Vengeance to set right that which has gone wrong. To these paladins, sometimes called avengers or dark knights, their own purity is not as important as delivering justice."

    TENETS OF VENGEANCE

    FIGHT THE GREATER EVIL▪ This character pursues her sworn enemies with determination that blinds her to lesser evils.

    NO MERCY FOR THE WICKED▪ Ordinary foes might win this character's mercy, but her sworn enemies will not.

    BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY▪ This character will do whatever it takes to defeat her sworn enemies, be it immoral, callous, or dangerous.

    RESTITUTION▪ If her sworn enemies cause chaos and destruction, this character assumes responsibility for failing to stop them and is compelled to help those harmed by their misdeeds.
