• Description

  Afia has taupe-colored, smooth skin and long, slender legs. Her oval face consists of full lips, thick eyebrows, a button nose, and almond, dark brown eyes with long lashes. She has voluminous, curly, black hair that falls past her shoulders. She usually braids them, or ties them up in a bun. Her smile is timid, yet kind and she stands with the straight back and the poise of a ballerina.

• Biography

  Afia grew up with a neurotic, overbearing mother that taught her to fear the world and the people in it. She grew up afraid of men, afraid of trusting anyone enough to make friends, afraid of coming out of her shell. A quiet, shy girl, Afia became an expert at making herself invisible. She didn't mix with others, preferring her own company, and her hobbies were all solitary ones such as reading and writing. She finished a technical program at school, finding herself a job as a laboratory technician in a small clinic in her hometown.
  
  One night, her colleagues invited her for an evening of drinks. For the first time, in an attempt to cure the growing loneliness that was eating away at her, she decided to accept. Afia wanted to change, to discard her mother's bleak world view in order to live a happier, fuller life. And her life changed, alright, but nowhere near the way she expected or would have wanted.
  
  Instead, she was only proved that her mother's world view wasn't so crazy after all. Deciding to walk home alone after her evening with colleagues, Afia got attacked by a monstrous beast. She woke up the next dawn, hidden at the very edge of a forest, concealed by thick shrubs. Her arms and legs were bleeding, from several bite wounds along her body.
  
  She was rushed to the hospital and though her injuries weren't too serious, Afia felt that something else felt very wrong. In the hospital bed, she felt an unpleasant, tingling, creeping sensation throughout her whole body, as though she were laying on a vibrating bed. Her muscles and bones ached as though she had a bad flu and she slept horribly, with frightening visions keeping her up at night. And from that day onward, most foods that she used to eat, such as breads and fruits, now made her nauseous and horribly ill. Something strange was happening, but it was nothing that the doctor's could explain. They dismissed it as the trauma caused by the attack, saying that it was her nerves and prescribing her anxiolytic medication.
  
  She had yet to undergo her first transformation and find out what she had become...
