• Backstory

  Skylar was born to a safe, secure home. While her father was always kind , her mother was excessively cold and cruel. Every attempt at a mother-daughter relationship was shot down.
  She was raised in a very controlled environment. Skylar attended private schools, and at home her parents watched her like a hawk. They enrolled her in self-defense classes at a young age. Skylar never knew their obsession with all this- until, at 11, she suddenly found she could manipulate the world around her. By sheer force of will, she could make the world change to whatever she wanted. Her natural talent in illusions allowed her to create things that weren't really there. Her parents quickly found out and began training her in this magic.
  As the years went on, she began exploring her sexuality. She had never been too interested in boys, but her parents encouraged her to date them. She began dating girls behind her parents' backs. They found out about this when she was 17. Skylar was terrified to see their reaction. To her surprise, they didn't seem to care.
  A few months later, they showed Skylar the Invisible Hand- a team of super villains. To her surprise, her mother and father were the heads of this team. They had been trying to get control of the city for a few years. Local superheroes had stopped their plans. But now that the city's mayor and police chief were corrupt, it'd be much easier to take control.
  Skylar joined. It was a game to her- the robbing, the spying- it was all just fun. It wasn't until she was 19 that'd she realize just how real it was. It was a typical robbery when her partner killed someone with his bare hands. She had never been involved in a murder before this point, and it was a game changer. She realized the group was actually destroying people's lives, not just damaging them a little. Skylar began researching her parents, and realized how many crimes they'd actually committed. By this point, she knew she had to leave the Invisible Hand. She had no intent on continuing this life- but, if she left, she would get blackmailed and thrown in jail or murdered by her own parents. She would have to take the Invisible Hand down in secret.

  Hidden Woman

  
  The Invisible Hand, the local villain group in North Creek, has found a new way to get power. They have an invented a tool that "shuts off" the powers in a person. They hit one of the most powerful super heroes in North Creek. The Invisible Hand begins plotting to murder him. The night before the murder, Skylar sneaks in to their house (in disguise) to warn them. The hero leaves and spends the night elsewhere. The next morning, their house/apartment building is in flames. The hero now is determined to figure out who exactly this person was who warned them, and how they knew. The hero can't find them. A few nights later, Skylar shows up wherever they're staying, again in disguise, and tells them she wants to help them get their powers back.
