• Biography

  Grace’s mother was something akin to a queen, or a least a leader, of her vampire coven. As such, much of his early life was spent in the walls of a castle, learning to walk and talk among creatures who would have ripped him to shreds had he not been under the protection of their most esteemed leader. It wasn’t long until he recognised that he was somewhat different from the rest of what he termed his family, noticing their comparatively pale skin and feline-like eyes. Of course, this was taken up with his mother, but she never elaborated much further than the fact he was adopted, something he figured out himself.
  
  Elizabeth Grace, self-declared mother of Donegan Grace, was a powerful vampire, not only well versed in the somewhat strange style of martial arts her species utilised, but also in the lesser respected – and yet arguably more important – art of diplomacy. One of the reasons she managed to attain her position of power was the fantastic way in which she twisted words, of leaving people wondering if what they heard was a threat or not. This coupled with her aggressive attitude and bloody history lead to her claiming the seat of power with little to no competition. Despite this being qualities not usually associated with a mother, she proved herself to be more than adequate maternally, doting on her adopted son like he was her own.
  
  Growing among vampires Grace learned their ways, something which helps massively in his profession. He inherited his mother’s talent for words, as well as her aptitude for combat, things he will always be grateful for, even if he did pick up a few strange habits, notably a taste for blood.
  
  It was on one of his ventures away from the castle that Grace got into the monster hunting business, managing to get roped into an expedition hunting werewolves, something he happily did because his kind never got along with them. He got a taste for the activity, and now has became fairly well-known in the circles he turns in. Despite this, he is careful to hide his past, aware than a hunter raised in vampire society would be frowned upon. That being said, he sometimes reveals his identity to monsters, aware that his mother’s reach is far and that it might help him.
  
  Despite him now being a hunter of creatures like his mother he still cares for her, and would never hunt her down, not that he thinks he could. He is certain that word of his reputation has reached her ears and is not entirely sure of what she thinks of him, and if she would even let him live should he return.

• Description

  Donegan dresses in what he considers suitable clothing, namely a mottled black cloak, various shades of darkness serving to break up his shape when trying to hide. A matching hood is used to offer the same for his face, yet his eyes are sometimes visible from within, bright green orbs. He is unsure if this is because people know something is there, and just see what is unusual, or if it is some strange side effect of being among vampires. When not trying to hide, he often wears a hat similar to a stetson, believing that looking the part is half the job.
  
  Underneath the cloak is light leather armor, something he doesn't always wear. He recognises the need for protection against sharp knives as well as sharp looks, but prefers the agility offered to him when he isn't wearing armor. While leather is not nearly as clumsy as metal, it can still serve to inhibit some movement.
  
  The cloak also hides Donegan's various tools of the trade: a rifle similar to that of a Winchester, a lever action firearm with which he is fairly proficient, as well as a revolver modified to carry much heavier hitting ammunition than it has any right to; while a regular revolver might put a hole in a man's head, Grace's will take the head clean off the shoulders. The last notable weapon is a disassembled crossbow. It is unwieldy to carry when whole, meaning that he often takes it apart and assembles it when needed, not always needing the stealth it offers.
