• Appearance

  Kyrie is eighteen years old. They're a little small for their age, not so much in height but perhaps weight, and their skin is quite pale, which caused his father to believe he was constantly sick as a child. Their physical appearance was never something that bothered them too much. He has long black hair and light blue-gray eyes.
  
  He's always wearing loose, dark clothes because he feels comfortable in them, and he wouldn't like to draw attention to himself by wearing bright colors. Their arms and legs are constantly hidden from view; he doesn't think this was a conscious choice, but never really stopped doing it.
  
  Kyrie's aware of how others might perceive him, and doesn't mind. His only concerns when it comes to his looks are being comfortable and not really standing out.

• Background

  They were born in the same house they still live in with their father, on October 28th, eighteen years ago, but the two of them never talk about who his mother was or her side of the family. Whenever asked about it, his father would always say it was a long story he'd tell eventually; Kyrie was never particularly fond of that answer, but made sure to forget about it. He also made sure to forget about the little dark smoke that would sometimes form on the palm of his hands, the way he could tell exactly when his father would come back home, the way he knew how to bring flowers and small animals back to life.
  
  The fact that they never completely felt like a boy, that sometimes they just wanted to be themself with no exact pattern to follow, was also something they kept hidden. He didn't mind when people called him a boy or used male pronouns to talk about him, but he also didn't mind when they used neutral words. One day he might start using different words for himself, but for now these will do.
  
  Their relationship with their father and his family has always been great. The man always worked hard to provide for them both, harvesting and delivering herbs, and Kyrie can confidently say they were a happy child that received all the love and affection they could ask for. He was never the kind to find himself surrounded by friends, and he'd much rather play by himself and let his imagination run wild. His books always took him to every place he could wish to travel to, and that was enough for him.
  
  In spite of their calm nature, Kyrie and their father would always raise suspicion around their neighbourhood. Their house was located at the very end of the darkest parts of it, close to a river that was rumored to bring ghosts at night. They never believed that, but everyone else did, and soon enough came the accusations of witchcraft and whatnot. The reason why his father had bought the house was because the soil was perfect for his work, but no one ever seemed to care. Kyrie understood that their small town was mostly filled with old, traditional families, yet it bothered them because their father didn't like it. This only lasted for the first few years, however, as he stopped listening to such nonsense a little before he started to consider himself a teenager.
  
  Eventually, all of those things came back to him, and he wondered if there was any truth to those rumors after all. When he finally decided to ask his father what truly happened to his mother, the answer was honestly kind of frustrating: no one knew. His father had no memories of her or what happened to her after their son was born, there were only faint ideas of having someone beside him, but none that said anything specific.
  
  One night, as he walked along the river, he noticed there was a woman sitting on top of a conveniently large and flat stone. She called him by his name and told him she knew exactly what he did there, that she was the one who had carried him and vanished from his life leaving no evidence of ever existing. She explained it was because of some form of punishment for getting involved with someone who wasn't like her, someone who was born human. His mother was, "as your world says", a demon who came to enjoy herself on Earth and got carried away. Now she comes and goes as she pleases, but no one could be sure it was safe to come back into her son's life so soon. She would watch him from afar and protect him, but nothing else was to be expected.
  
  He can only wonder, now, what that means, what he should expect from life and what life expects from him. Kyrie just wonders if he will ever feel like he truly belongs somewhere, but he's more than fine with spending time with the people he loves as he figures this out.
