  Prosthetic Arm: After having lost his left arm in a combat incident, the lost section of limb was replaced with a prosthetic. The workings of the false forearm is entirely of finely-tuned mechanical parts, but the exterior seems to be a well-carved wood surface. The arm itself is either hidden with a sort of artificial skin, or by clothing like long sleeves, jackets, and gloves.
  
  Acoustic Guitar: Due to his wanting to occupy his time here aside from work and friends, he purchased this little baby with some spare cash, and can play like an adept.
  
  Short Sword: Due to the desire to defend himself without his powers, he has gained a sword from a friend, which after a good while of practice with, he is now at the same skill level as any decent swordsman.
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  Abilities/Powers
  Nigen is a: Defense/Support fighter. Although his attack capabilities are by no means something to laugh at, his truest potential arises when defending and supporting his allies. His enemies will also find that despite his great power and talent, he is only a human. Very easily, his body can be broken, and his ability to logically and calmly think is easily disabled when things precious to him are endangered. Hostages, friends especially, are an excellent way to make use of this...
  
  
  1. Psychic: Psychic abilities that push the boundaries of what even the most potent of psychics can do. One might even say that as far as mortals go, he is the strongest of psychics. His mastery of his psychic powers allow him special abilities in the psychic field:
  
  - True sight: Although already visually keen, this allows him to see through walls and objects to find something. Pushed to its limits, he can also see into the true nature of the people around him.
  
  - Aura Force: Channeling his psychic powers through parts of his body to attack physically and mentally. In a biological target, it disrupts the physical structure and damages the mind. Its main use involves being fired as a clear, rippling shot through the air in varying sizes, but it has a few other uses.
  
  - Aura Blade/Rank III: (Close-Range) After his share of time adapting to the ways of a sword he took an interest in how that weapon worked. Since gaining his powers back, he's spent time experimenting with how he can use what he learned from the sword to compliment his psychic abilities. The result is that now he can coat his sword in an aura field, both enhancing its hardness and sharpness tremendously. He has also reached the point where he can focus aura energy from his mind to form a psychic blade, either as a full sword or a simple blade from his arm, both of which are as sturdy and effective as any real blade.
  
  2. Motion Shifting: Pretty much the ability to accelerate his body and move anywhere in short amounts of time. This also can increase his overall movement capabilities, allowing him to travel in the air for short periods of time. At full force, he can move an impressive 40 MPH. This does prove straining on the body rather quickly, however, so careless use could prove fatal...
  
  3. Soul Boost: A somewhat complex skill in its workings. It can be applied either to himself, or to other targets to enhance aspects of their being based on soul strength. It takes numerous forms.
  
  - Sword Soul: An enhancement of one's outward aggressive abilities based on the strength of Nigen and the target's souls. This quite simply enhances one's attack strength by a set percentage depending on the following; the number of targets, the level of Nigen's concentration, and the strength of Nigen's targets.
  
  - Shield Soul: An enhancement of one's overall defensive abilities based on the strength of Nigen and the target's souls. This simply enough improves one's defenses and durability by a set percentage depending on the following; the number of targets, the level of Nigen's concentration, and the strength of Nigen's targets.
  
  - Healing Soul: True healing is an art unable to be reached through psychic means or otherwise for Nigen, but through Healing Soul, he's able to work off of the strength of his own soul and the soul of his target to enhance their own healing capabilities. Natural regeneration is enhanced based on the severity of the wound, the strength of both active souls, and Nigen's concentration.

  The Start of the Endless Cycle
  
  Dark...wet...alone. A seemingly eternal feeling, and indeed...all I even knew in the beginning. I was made in isolation. Watched from behind see-through walls, sealed within a prison of glass, filled with the moisture of previous dead. From lost life, they sought to make new life. They succeeded, not once, but three times. I was the last to come. My sister...my brother...they were the first, and in the end, I was the last thing on anyone's mind until my birth. Only after the passing of what seemed like an eternity did the warm, wet feeling pass and leave me. Soon after, my ears detected sound...my skin felt cold...then warmth of a different sort. Voices around me...unknowable words passed though the air...air? What was this? It burned the moment it came in contact with my body momentarily...and trying to actually inhale and exhale it caused near agonizing feeling for several minutes. Then, when it was no longer unbearable to continue trying, my world brightened. Painfully though, as the sudden exposure to the light was far too quick. I was forced to keep them open, however...my eye lids were held by strange devices. They were held until minutes after I was finally able to adjust, and then I saw figures. Those who had watched me from behind glass, staring down at me through thick glasses and wearing clean, white coats. They carried a black, metallic square, tapping at the surface which I could not see, odd, quiet bleeps and blips sounding each time. Soon, the familiar voices rang in my ears, and they proceeded to speak to me...for a while...I understood not a word. But after several minutes longer, the words slowly began to make some sense. I understood them clearly, as if I had known the tongue my whole life. And after many attempts, and great pain within my body, I found the strength and ability to respond. They asked me questions...how did I feel, were there any odd sensations in my body, was I scared...I only at this point noted any sensations in my body. Or more precisely, I only now noticed my own body...so similar to theirs, but...smaller. I understood slowly the term given for this...I was a child, and they were grown, and that someday, I would become what they were. Already, I was growing worn once again...the dark proved tempting as my eyes closed. Before I drifted, they told me one last thing...my name...Nigredo Draytani.
  
  
  
  The Horror of Life
  
  Months...six, to be precise. That was how long it took me to finally learn of the state of the world and people around me. During those months, after awakening for the second time, I was immediately taught. First to move...a shaky, weak crawl at first. Then a slow, staggering walk. After this, I was able to run, and soon, I could move my whole body as if I had done this forever. Within what I was told was my home, the empire of my father, I could hardly go seven feet without seeing a heavily armored trooper, a cyborg, or some finely-dressed officer. Each regarded me with the same words, "Little Master." I did not understand the meaning to these words at first, and not once did I get a chance to ask before being clothed and escorted about. The halls of the empire's fortress were massive, and without guides, surely, I would have been wandering forever. Once acquainted enough with the inside, I was introduced first and foremost to the person who made me...who ordered my creation. My father, the leader of the empire, Feldrend Draytani had an odd, chilling air about him. He acted so jolly and calm, yet past that, I felt there was something...more. Something unsettling. At his side, a woman, a tall one with dark skin and pointed ears stared at me with the coldest eyes one could ever imagine. My father's adviser, who stuck to his side seemingly like glue was Syriad Cyrian. It was clear within the first month that she held an odd fondness for my father, more than what should have been healthy. I remember that this woman, no matter what, frightened me to my core, and it was clear the feeling was shared among others in the empire. After that, I was introduced to my brother and sister, the other two created just like me. Albedo, my sister, with hair like snow, was a calm, soothing individual. Every movement or word she said was always relaxing and filled with an odd wisdom, one that betrayed her age. One could easily feel at ease around her, I could tell. The other one, a red-haired, powerful looking boy named Rubedo, was quite different. He possessed a spirit like fire. Everything that came from him seemed a bit too head-strong, and if Albedo was the one to solve issues with logic and careful thought, then Rubedo was the one to run by instinct and throw caution to the wind. One could feel at ease though, with a warm, free nature like his. Oddly enough, I found myself admiring traits from both of them. For the months after that, I was given instruction, taught by teachers in a rapid amount of time all that was available to know. My mind filled with knowledge of technology, techniques, ideas, history, mathematics, skills. I was taught the workings of the empire, the world around it, and that I was granted gifts, all to be tested at a later date. During my time, I encountered a machine man, a cyborg who was rather different from the others. K-12, or as I came to call him over time, Kaide was different. Unlike other cyborgs, only his mind was still human, all else was pure machine. He carried a softer, gentler personality than most others, and I found myself warming up to him quickly. I was told always to never go outside, that I would be shown the world around us when I was ready...but Kaide...he thought different. He said it was best I knew now. He took me out when nobody could see...what I saw was awful. I had read and been told of a world of green and blue, a happier setting where the air was clean and clear, and fresh grass was spread everywhere. Not once in the history that I learned was I informed of this...I soon figured out why. The world I lived in was a land of desert wastelands, demonic aberrations, mutated men and animals, and humans struggling to survive in small outposts. This was no home...this was no proper world for anyone...this life, a life here was more suited to hell...
  
  
  Growth and Disappearance
  
  Years...I was seventeen before all of it changed. During that time, I was trained. No longer in just the body, but in the mind. I was informed of the gifts inherited from father, psychic abilities. I was placed in a large, steel chamber, faced against machines and targets. My first attempts...did not go well. I suffered my fair share of injuries, unable to tap into my powers when my brother and sister already could. Every time I failed, I was healed by machines used by a doctor and sent back in to try again. It was a cycle, of sorts, failure and injury, repair and repeat. When I finally could use my powers, it proved too much to handle. I was unable to control them, and noting the danger of this, my father took steps. Seals on my power to limit it, only to be removed when I could handle my full power. An eye-patch over my left eye, and a brace around my neck. Unfortunately, limiting my powers also affected my physical being. I was instantly made physically weak, and unable to stand or move without aid. To this effort, a crutch was given for movement, and specially constructed so I may channel energy through it. After I was deemed ready to try again in this state, I found that I could indeed use my gifts, although at a lesser level for now. I had trained with these gifts for years along with my studies. At the age of fifteen, I was met with saddening news. My sister, Albedo, had abandoned and fled the empire, deemed a traitor and to be captured. She was never found, and never did she return. Rubedo and I both were stricken with grief, but made to focus on our training. The age of seventeen came, I had finished the majority of my training and growth. I was nearly a man, and I was allowed to wander outside finally on my own. Of course, I hardly ever expected to be whisked away the instant I set foot out the door. The ground sank beneath me, and like that, I fell...into an endless sea of white, falling for what seemed like forever. In truth, it was mere minutes, and I found myself in a strange new world. The Nexus, a sort of crossroads or middle ground between all worlds and dimensions. My old home was gone, and I was stuck here, with seemingly no way back.
  
  
  Things Come and Gone
  
  As quickly as possible, just like I was taught, I learned all I could of the Nexus. I learned of what wandered and roamed here, the lay of the land, along with the dangers in store. Beings of great, horrifying power wandered freely, beasts supposedly only in legends were common sights, and such a thing as consumption of those around you was a common and casual thing. This land however, despite the cons, was not without perks. I had found my first friend here...a child, such a strange, curious thing. After her, I found others, some left and never were seen, but I found the time with friendly faces a comforting, lovely thing. The child especially proved to be the best of my friends. She and others made things seem alright, and almost immediately, the burden of being away from home was gone. Years were spent here, many years. I overcame the seals on my body and powers, learned a great deal more. I overcame a great sickness that threatened to take everything from me. I even found it. Years after I was taken, I found the way home...
  
  
  Fall of an Empire, and the Death of a Tyrant
  
  I had found an old portal within the depths of the forest. Old, faded runes that thirsted for magic marked the stone, a thirst I was willing to quench. Through the white I fell again, returning back to my home. I was briefly overjoyed. But upon returning to the empire, I was not met with a warm welcome as I had expected...but with betrayal. My own allies had turned against me, even Kaide had aimed his weapons at me...all under the orders of my father. I was wounded, forced to flee into the wastelands, farther than I had ever imagined. I eventually found myself at the capital city of the resistance, a group that had been fighting against the empire for longer than I had been alive. They informed me of the truth...at first they were wary of me. As to be expected. But when they found that I had been attacked and betrayed, they seemed a bit more willing to work with me. My father had finally lost his mind. His own power was causing his sanity to deteriorate at a startling rate, and he was on the verge of collapse. He was determined to wipe out every living thing on the planet before he finally died, however, and was mounting an all out assault against the resistance, and everything else. In a war that took nearly two years, I worked with the resistance to fight. I was forced to destroy those I had once called my friends. Kaide, my "mother", the doctors, the soldiers, the teachers...and soon, I found myself standing over the corpse of my father. A battle that had nearly killed us both ended with me winning just barely. It was over and done. Whatever purpose he had in mind for me before no longer mattered. The world was free, and the survivors of the war worked to cleanse the planet of demons and mutants, now unified under one cause: to restore the world. I had left Rubedo and the returned Albedo to lead it all. My place wasn't here. After years within the Nexus, my place was there. It was the place I knew was my real home. With that, and a final farewell, I returned, to live out the rest of my days...
