Pan "Bladed Medusa" Guiying
A mystical prodigy from the Halberd Jewel, Pan hailed from the School of Medusa's Strike, a magical art where one's hair is used as a deadly weapon. A single strand can be as sharp as a needle, and bundled locks can stretch to impossible distances, transform into whips, halberds, swords, and almost anything else she can imagine. Pan was destined for greatness. As a dedicated disciple, she was supposed to usher in a new era for the School of Medusa's Strike, one that would rival the Four Golden Masters... until she met:
Lu "Endless Gourd" Fau
Pan fell in love with Lu, the Endless Sword. He was on his way to becoming a legendary phenom under the strict and highly praised Temple of the Seeking Sword, a martial art trained by tiger man-beasts. In this school they hone the vessel into becoming a living sword, conditioning the body to act as a sharpened blade, enabling the practitioner to deflect and parry weapons with just their hands. Lu would've been the first human to have mastered this feat, but meeting Pan changed everything.
They both abandoned their practices to travel Daozen in search of adventure. They lived as nomadic partners, journeying across the land to challenge schools worthy of their skill. However, Lu Fau injured his hands using the Seeking Sword art against an incredibly durable Elephant man of the Smiling Fist. His bones were badly fractured, forcing him to abandon the art in search of another style. In wild pursuit of this new style, he took to drinking, and inadvertently found his second chance in the Drunken Fist.
His fall from grace caused a rift in their relationship. They separated for a year, Pan returning to Halberd Jewel to pick up where she left off, while Lu Fau fought in the pits of Beggar's Song Valley. It is here where he went from Endless Sword to Endless Gourd, drinking and perfecting his craft as a Drunken Master. The two eventually reunited; Pan rescued Lu from Beggar's Song Valley after fighting through hordes of fighters, who wanted to kill him for humiliating them in the pits.
While their relationship isn't the same as before, they continue to make an effort to stay together. Even though they argue, fight, and bicker, and sometimes brutally spar, their love for each other will never fade.
