A Faint Recollection

Cheerful laughter, small warm hands grappling for her-
“Mothe-! —ther!”
She could hear their joyous cries, the phantom sensation of small hands, small arms around her.
“—up—!” A trill of laughter, and a larger, warmer hand.
“Sister-! How was—yet?”
A great family; they were a great family. Radiating warmth, happiness, life. -
Ancient, that was what they called her, but she felt younger- (it was most definitely not a case of an old woman in denial about getting on the years), in that, she felt as if she was far younger than what she should be. But don’t they say that, today is as old as you would get? But alas, what is a simple inkstone-given-soul doing thinking so much?
RouEn- a mere volcanic-ash -inkstone-given-life, who just also happened to be amongst the few that witnessed the entire history of the Land of the Rising Sun, and still lived to tell the tale. Nowadays, she simply drift among humans, trying to find her purpose again.

She is simply, incredibly depressing, so incredibly depressing that she makes me question myself when roleplaying as her. Casual self-deprecating thoughts, melodrama, a lot of anxiety and a dash of suicidal ideation is what you should prepare yourself for, just sayin’.
Genre/Theme:-Anytime from the beginning of times to modern times, and strictly in a fantasy setting. Action is optional, but not preferred, as she isn’t exactly built for combat in any way, shape or form. Angst, hurt and comfort would be very much preferred. Romance would be great, but just a fair warning, she will be playing very hard to get. -

Attire:-Pale colours, floral and elaborate designs, golden trimmings and silver embroidery; she loves anything bright and light in colour; traditional in style, but loose and flowing at the same time. Long skirts and flowing dresses, woollen sweaters and airy yukata tend to be her common choice of clothing.
Appearance:-Petite, looking youthful yet mature. Human eyes wouldn’t be able to truly ‘see’ her, her form blurs around the edges, like formless mist, dancing around your awareness. But those that could see, would see a slate black being, wavy dark hair brushing the ground, dark eyes that never blinks and dark skin that seemed to be made out of stone.
Attitude:- Whimsical, sleepy, and dreamy- in a way that seemed like she was never truly there. Though she takes things very seriously, her behaviour seems to be the opposite. Pessimistic, and vain, reticent but only because she never stops trying to suppress the simmering anger and chaotic emotions in her heart.
Body Language:-Her posture straight, her gait graceful; she reveals nothing of her true thoughts, hiding everything behind the prim and proper manners of a court lady. Despite her confident countenance, her expressive eyes expose her easily. She always seemed to be on the defensive, trying to put something in between her and the world, always holding something in her hand, a fan, an umbrella, as if it could shield her somehow. Speech:-Soft and demure, her voice is always even, and tends to end in a sigh. Otherwise, her vernacular tend to be rather bombastic, and she would rather go ‘round and ‘round the bush for the hundredth time than get anywhere near the main point. She tends to speak in a lazy manner, arrogant even, and always seem incredibly tired.
