      "Upon returning to The Vindicator, should Bud choose to retreat to his private quarters rather than than the belly of the propulsion engines room, he'd find a care package there waiting outside of his door. Clothes, two entire outfits, thoughtfully coordinated, folded and tied with string, as well as a self-warming serving tray containing a bowl of Thai, red beef curry. And a parchment-paper wrapped gift and card. If he dared to open them, he'd find a candid picture, framed, seemingly pulled from Mylo's own memory banks, of Bud caught in a reflection with Mylo visible there in the background, smiling that special smile.

      And the note read:
      This is the only pain I would ever want to cause you, Bud.
      I'm sorry we didn't get a chance to take a proper picture together."
