Saxton's Legacy

Thank you for visiting the page for my custom species, the Saxton Foxes! This is a very new race that is massively WIP, but this page will be updated with new information, images, events and lore as time goes on, so feel free to come back and check often!

Applications for the moment are INVITATION ONLY while I work out the kinks of this race. Applications will open up once this is more fleshed out, and the race will ALWAYS be free to play! If you have any questions please feel free to message me here on RPR or on Discord! (Gobshite #9930)

UPDATE 1/24/2022 - A couple diseases and some touchups to technology and breeding information have been made! Getting there!

Have you been invited to play a Saxton? If that's the case, hello again! I'm very excited to see what you come up with and to see them grow in the world we all create!

I encourage you to read through the What You See page, as it'll include the basic physiological details of a Saxton Fox, but I'll also include them here to provide a guide below to try and help you out along the way! I'll get the no-nos out of the way first, which will be expanded upon in the appropriate section:

With that out of the way, take a look at these guidelines below if you need some help with your Saxton!

Auger: The Auger is required! The Auger is a small ball of dim light that hovers several inches above the Saxton's head, and this is an indirect way of displaying their current mood! Emotional dishonesty is unfortunately not an option for a Saxton. The Auger cannot be manipulated or removed by any means, and any body accessories that grow near it will naturally grow around it rather than through it!

Height: Adults cannot be taller than 6 feet (~182 cm) or shorter than 3 feet (~91 cm). No more, no less!

Age: Saxton Foxes can live to be about 200 years old so long as they remain active and healthy!
-Note on underage characters: For the moment, playing minors (under 18 human years of age) is absolutely not allowed, and depicting your characters as appearing underage is also absolutely not allowed. While children and families certainly exist, I'm not quite comfortable with allowing such characters to be playable while the species will be (for the most part) operating in mature environments.

Weight: Use your best judgement! Though a good guide to follow is to calculate a Body Mass Index (BMI) and use the desired height to find out what the target weight for a healthy Saxton would be! Want them to be over or under weight? That's fine too!
-Note on obesity: Do keep in mind that Saxtons are generally a very active species. They are not natural layabouts! Having an overweight Saxton is okay, as I've said, but do keep the above in mind! You wouldn't find a Saxton appearing on "My 600 Pound Life".

Elemental/Mineral makeup: Saxton Foxes each take on a particular element or mineral as a part of their overall genetic makeup when they're born. This choice is entirely up to the players, and there's a MASSIVE list of candidates to choose from. This includes elemental compounds, which can lead to all sorts of fascinating colors and patterns. You can have granite foxes, gold foxes, salt foxes, the list goes on! While nonmetallic compounds for fur and body parts may not technically make sense depending on the element, they're certainly allowed for the sake of creative freedom. If you're unsure, please ask!

Fur and fur color: This part I know can be a bit confusing. Saxtons don't really have fur! While it appears that they do, the hairs of their coats is made of whatever element or mineral the Saxton represents! Making an Iron fox? You got iron fur. But also keep the element or mineral in mind for color as well! Again using iron as an example- Did you know that some iron compounds (like Iron Hexacyanoferrate or "Prussian Blue") can appear blue in color? It's true! Iron can also appear red, yellow, cream, white, black or brown! Almost any color or color combination is possible, so long as you do your research! Take the time to look up some different minerals, compounds, alloys, isotopes, etc, and I'd bet you'd find something pretty fascinating!

Body accessories: Wasn't sure what else to call these, but these are things that you probably wouldn't find on a typical fox! Though I'll break it down into what's currently allowed and what isn't allowed below. Remember, these accessories are also made out of your fox's given substance! Again, iron fox could have iron horns if you want them! These can appear just about anywhere on your Saxton. Want to imitate Big Boss and have a metal horn growing out of your scalp? You can do it! Want to make the underside of your tail covered in scales? You can do that too! These accessories don't have to be limited to things that grow either, however more features will be made available to players as I become more comfortable with how the race gets fleshed out over time. Get creative, though if in doubt do feel free to ask!

-Floating/disconnected limbs/body parts

Note regarding Warden and Tainted Saxtons:
At the present time, magical and radioactive Saxtons are not playable and will only be represented by NPCs unless otherwise authorized. This WILL change, and I'll absolutely give plenty of notice as to WHEN this will change, but starting out I'm not overly comfortable with allowing this. Be patient and stay tuned!
